Life Table and Perturbation Analyses of the Coffee Berry Borer and Their Implications for Management

Dr. Yobana Marino Cardenas of the University of Puerto Rico presents on her life table studies on coffee berry borer in Puerto Rico. Life table analyses are important for recording biological parameters at the individual level: egg viability, fecundity, mortality, and developmental time. In addition, life tables are used to calculate demographic parameters of populations: e.g. population growth rate, net reproductive rate, mean generation time, and doubling time.
