I can tell you what will keep you from crying during mediation. It might sound cold, but it will work. When you sit down for that Zoom call, dig deep inside and remember the way you felt on Father's Day when India was crying her heart out at church because her dad wasn't there. Remember how your heart breaks everytime little Ari looks at you with tears in his eyes, wondering why his dad left. Remember how you feel every single time one of your beloved children cries because they miss him and don't understand why he did what he did. Remember how you felt when you considered selling your ring for milk and diaper money. Remember all the anger, fear, confusion and helplessness you and your children have had to face due to the choices of another, and let the mother lion that is within you come out. You don't have to yell or be nasty, you can be the sweet, wonderful Julie we have all come to know and love...but you don't have to get run over or agree to anything you don't want during mediation. I was divorced years ago (basically abandoned) and went through a lot of what you're going through. My ex knew I cared deeply for him and he used my love for him to get everything he asked for during mediation. If I had gone in like a lioness, I truly believe it would have turned out far different than it did. My ex ended up bailing on our kids within a year anyway, and Heavenly Father sent the most wonderful, loving, Spirit filled man into our lives 18 months later! He loved my children before he loved me! 6 months after we married he adopted them, and together we adopted one daughter in 2010. No matter what happiness looks like to you and your children, I promise you it's waiting just around the corner! You can do mediation...you can do anything because you are "THE MOMINATOR!" You are protecting your cubs and that is what their father and the lawyers need to see. Your tears will flow freely after all is said and done...and you will have zero regrets...no looking back and thinking of things you could have said or done differently. Praying for you always. YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!!

Honestly I saw through Alex many years ago. I often caught him switching his whole persona as soon as he spotted he was on camera. I thought he was well and truly faking the doting dad and husband on many occasions. And lets be real Julie....how many other women would allow there husband to travel all the time chasing their dream like you did. He acted like a man in his 20's with no responsibility while you were at home taking care of 8 children. The is no doubt that you can and do deserve so much better ❤

I kind of saw through him as well …. It can’t be good when a man is away the majority of the time and not present with his wife and family. The nature of the beast you can blame it on generational stuff or whatever has come down the pike and maybe all of that has seriously contributed but Real men who love the Lord do not walk out on their families! Please keep us posted with the outcome of the mediation and you my dear and your lovely children and Alex will continue to be in my prayers 🙏🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽

When you said, “I loved you, Alex.” I LOST IT! 😭😭 absolutely lost it. The pain that others’ agency causes is so unfair! We saw how supportive you were! How determined you were for him to succeed in his career that took him away from his family so much. And we allllll thought that this generational trauma was going to end with him. And here he is, spreading it to his kids. But YOU will break it, Julie. You and your family will.

Mediation Was a joke for us, we did it twice and got absolutely no where best way to get through, it is to get mad, get angry. I don't know what happened in your case, but. I know it's hard. Try to agree on as much stuff as you can. So it doesn't have to go into the courts. Because the courts will screw you over big time.

I happened to come across a video of him proposing to you and I sobbed... I know though, that even if you had known then what you know now you still wouldnt of done anything differently because if you had you wouldnt have your little warriors that have been right there by your side... I hope that one day Alex see's the light and that at that point it's not too late...not for you or for the kids. I see your hurt, I see the hurt in your babies, some more than other's...Ari and India in particular. I'm going to keep praying and keep loving your family and lifting you up in positivity. When you go Mama Bear it is not about you it is about supporting his children. Religious beliefs and commitment sometimes makes us feel like we didn't try but I see you trying not quitting loving all the kiddos 100%. Keep your head on top of the conversation during the mediation this is one time you Don want to walk away saying I should have ... could have be the voice your children don't have. The Boyd are all going to to go through growth spurts and will be eating like never before (prob . The girls too I only had 1 boy) stay strong friend these next Few chapters are going to be hard but pen and paper ready I say go high way high and don't back down. Cost of living etc...cost alot more to feed and clothe the children vs 1 man 😊

Please whatever happens, please don't make the kids sit in front of the judge of who they want to live with. That is what happened in my family and it tore us kids apart. I hope that he has to pay a butt load of child support and has to cough up alimony since you were essentially a stay at home mom, raising the kids! Please also try to keep the kids together, not plot them apart, I if possible. You are doing a great job, your kids seem happy for the most part. Prayers to you and the kids that you get through this rough patch and only get stronger, after all he is the one missing out!

Unfortunately in my daughters case he refuses to pay those obligations. She has lost so much money. He is trying to change the rulings to almost nothing. My daughter is 100% carrying the load of it all on her own. He has abandoned his children and her for his cheating ways. It is disgusting how he hides his money under the table and it can’t be touched. I pray Julie that this ends differently for you. You deserve the best and so do your children. Praying for you to get through the mediation and any other court proceedings and come out on top. You blow me away with your strength and positive outlook. I can’t imagine any father just up and abandoning his family. It happens far to often. (((((Hugs))))))

Mable is so flipping adorable running in the park. Bill listens so well. ❤ I have to agree about Covid. So many people went through changes whether good or bad. I think the people who made drastic decisions did so out of fear of the unknown and the future. Lots of people decided it was their chance to reach for the stars, live out their dreams, and take a leap of faith. A lot of those people are worse off now and regretting their decisons. You stayed grounded. You kept a level head and didn't go off the deep end. Do NOT ever think you did anything to push him out the door. You have NOTHING to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. His making his decision public was a ridiculous, impulsive move, and that's on him. People don't think less of you because of it. It's okay to have all the feelings you do. You need to process all of it and it doesn't happen within a specific time frame. Like I mentioned a while back, there's a grieving process involved; let yourself go through it. You will know when you've processed it all. Cry, scream, be angry, sad...it's all normal for what is happening. You've come a long way in the last year, and I hope you see that. You're an amazing mom. You're a wonderful human. You're always in my prayers. ❤

While it’s hard to go through things publicly, most women have to go through this quietly and privately. They feel like they’re alone, because no one shares their grief. So when you share how you feel, however hard it is, it helps other women feel like they’re not alone. Thank you.

Please believe it’s not anything you have done. Or didn’t do. You are enough, you always have been! It’s his character, not yours. I’ve gone through the exact same thing, only my children are adults. He chose another woman to be with, and walked away from his family. For myself, and my situation, him walking away, saved me. I am two years out since he left me. I am doing so much better, and so are my children and grandchildren. It will be hard, but you will be okay! My prayers are with you. Make sure you get what you deserve. You and your children come first. Fight for what you know you need. Don’t back down. I didn’t fight, I wanted to have spousal support and he refused to pay that. His plan was to retire and not have any responsibilities so he could ride into the sunset with her. He would have taken it to court if I had pushed for the support. I just wanted it all to be done. I gave in. Fight for what you want and need. You truly deserve it. It does get better, I promise! I stand by you, and will keep you and your family in my prayers. May the Savior continue to be by your side! If I did not have the gospel and my faith, I honestly don’t know how I would have got through it. Stand strong, you got this!! 💛 Janell Burke-Not Raber I went back to my maiden name, but I don’t know how to change it on this.

One thing that really helped me during mediation 9 months ago (after my husband had suddenly heartbreakingly announced, similar to yours, that he was leaving), was having been counseled to remember that because I am the parent caring more about our children’s well being and the one more wisely/sacrificially providing for them, it would be best for all possible resources to be granted to me in the divorce-since I will most thoughtfully use them for the benefit of the children. I was reminded that of the two of us, I am the spouse seeking God’s direction in taking care of our family, so I will best be guided in using any available funds and benefits to care for all of us (including him!), and especially the children. Recognizing this helped me feel better about asking for and accepting more, rather than less, in our divorce mediation. The wisdom of that has been very evident in the time since our divorce was finalized. God knows better than either of us how to best care for His children. ❤

Everyone has moments that they feel like we are knocked down for the count, It's how you get up and move on. Keep moving! If you think of your life as a book with many chapters, it's the ones who's chapter that are closed which can be more difficult to deal with. God has his reasons for having that chapter close, because he sees ahead of us. He sees what harm emotionally, physically would happen if they stayed. You will be alright, your children will be alright. Just keep moving forward. Some days will be more difficult than other days, take one step at a time. Some time in the future you can look back and see how far you have come. You are a great mother/father and you are doing right by your children and it shows in their smiles. Just do your best because your best is enough! I wish nothing but the best for you and your family.

@@mustlovedogs5569big deal. Alex was always a pathetic lazy person anyway. He only enjoyed his own ego, never helped Julie with the kids, and obviously constantly hit Julie up for sex. I guarantee that he will move onto someone else.

You have handled everything with so much strength and so much grace you should applaud yourself for that. I have never been through what you have but I know how the kids must be feeling. Let him know what his destruction has done to you and the kids and the pain the kids are going through. Fathers that have the need to walk on on their kids only think of one person.. them. And tell them what you have been going through. Trauma or not it’s no excuse… especially when you have a wife and children who have loved you good or bad.. there were things he could have done to help him like you’ve done for your kids and paid for counselling and therapy

Julie, my heart aches for you. I only recently found out what happened , because exactly 6 weeks before you, my husband said the very same thing to me, and walked away. I wish I had words of encouragement. I wish I could give you advice that would help. I wish I could give you a hug. Just know how many of us are here because we love you. You are an incredible human being, and more importantly an amazing mother. My prayers and love are with you. ❤❤❤

Sending you love & strength of mind, body & soul Julie..... Write down everything important that you want/ need to say to help keep your focus... Write in large print & bright colour for when the tears 😢fall ( & it’s ok for them to fall it’s not a sign of weakness) I’ve come out on the other side my children were 4/8/10 when my marriage even after meditation broke down...my ex gave up his job so he didn’t have to pay maintenance... But despite that we came through ....love ❤ kindness & good hearts got us there An understanding mortgage provider who rescheduled my mortgage to give me breathing space & get our life’s together ... I did it / we did it ...the love of my children kept me strong on those days that felt so suffocating 😢& hard & over time things got easier which it will for you also sweetheart.. The biggest thing holding me back was the what ifs ,the self doubts, the pain, the anger, the hurt...but when I let go one by one of all these millstones I realised I’ve got this,I can do this,I’m strong.... Take one day at a time...no overthinking, lean on friends & family when you need to ( it’s not a sign of weakness it’s a sign of strength to admit you need help) Love & light on your journey beautiful Julie... YOU’VE GOT THIS. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Dearest child, you were created to be a mom and you are doing a fabulous job. Our Lord never promised us easy but he does promise to be by our side every step of the way. Your children take care of each other and you are very blessed to have them try to take care of you. Be honest in mediation because you are the injured party. If you have a good attorney, let him or her lead, they are there to protect you from these feelings of failure that you are having. You did nothing wrong, that is hard to believe, but he is the one who made the decision to walk away and above all else, you are loved.

I am glad you don't have to be in the same room. It would be even harder that way. Know what you want/need for your kids and go for that. Continue being prayerful. Ask God what to be adamant about. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed. Sometimes people just don't choose us. God chooses us everytime. He is there. Prayer warrior for you all, Julie!

I just don't get how its so easy for Dad to walk out on he's children and have no care in world. My daughter ex husband put her through abuse all the above. I was so glad he finally left. My grandchildren were 3 4 7 and now are 6 7 10 and my daughter meant man that had 3 children and treats her like queen and her children. My heart is so happy. 💓 There real dad has nothing to do with he's children or he's family so sad. Hopefully you can find true love for u and your children, u deserve it. Have beautiful family and it takes a strong women to do it by herself. Love you 😍 keep your head high Beautiful ❤
