No I don’t think so! Its definitely a great path & very interesting to me though, & I’ll definitely try to put some stuff on KZbin/Instagram about that!! I do know that you’d do 3 or 4 years of flight medicine as whatever kind of physician that you train to be during residency, & i think they try to give you your choice of base/aircraft that you could be a flight doc for. I went to AFOM101 last summer and all the flight docs were great, so nice & knowledgeable & loved their time as flight docs. It’s a great community. Then you can still apply to fellowships after you do your flight doc/operational years. I think you’d also be more likely to get an international assignment doing OIM compared to regular IM out of residency, because they want to keep flight docs in so they give them the best assignments they can!

yes, you have to ask for permission to go farther than i think 250 miles on the weekend while active duty, and it is a long process to travel internationally if you are active duty in the military!
