Miles was kinda dumb, he was told to get out and he didn't just go out the way he came. He could have escaped and shown the footage of the dead cop to the authorities, and they'd take care of it. Instead, the idiot kept going and he got shot, losing two fingers on the way.

@@PessiIsPinished or when he arrives in the courtyard area and goes to the cabin to get the key, he could have grabbed all those tools in their to cut his way through all the fences and just get back to his car. or when he returns to the administration block before father martin burns himself, he could just climb down the staircase and squeeze through the gaps to get back to the first floor without any problem. he could then go back to the security room from the beginning where martin drugged him and unlock the damn entrance
