I roll my clothes as outfits for each day when I'm flying. It saves space for extra souvenirs ect. Pack one outfit for each person on your carry on, just in case the airlines lose your luggage. I usually do a back pack and a suitcase for checked luggage and then I have a mini backpack 🎒 that has my medication and diabetic kit in it, toothpaste, toothbrush and hygiene products and snacks. You just never know what will happen and this way you have this stuff with you at all times.
