I remember my brother once told me that he saved a little girl from drowning. His son who was a kid himself spotted her. My brother said she was trying to get her head above the water and tried to yell out for help. He said he walked up to her and lifted her above the water in seconds. The mother was on her iphone when he took the girl to the seating area. The weird part of this was there were lots of people around her but he said he never heard her once. This was a very busy public swimming pool. He said no one heard her but his son. Also when he reached for the girl he yelled 'shes drowning' to the lady close to her and the lady looked stunned and didnt know how to respond. Parents should learn the signs of a person drowning and maybe leave the phones on the car or at home and watch their kids.

Yeah when you're drowning. You're completely silent. Unlike in the movies or how we think of them. I've almost drowned myself in a pool because I wanted to learn how to swim while standing up. I kinda got a cramp and I forced myself to doggy paddle or do a breaststroke while ignoring the pain a little bit. Still I had a hard time breathing because before I started swimming to land I sunked down. No one really noticed. My parents, well my dad, was keeping an eye on my little brother because he can't swim and I can except treading(idk the spelling).

I just found out today Terry past away. It's been years since I last saw him, but it saddens me greatly that he won't be around to brighten this world a bit.i always thought I would get another chance to race against him on sup boards (I never could beat him no matter how hard I trained 🙂) or to just paddle out to the heads and watch the sunrise. And then he saves her, she says her modest "Thank you" - even this didn't get me so much (I was kind of expecting that), but when he said about his son... Man, you are a hero! You are saving lives pretty much every day, I think this is a great tribute to your son's memory. He would be proud of you, no doubt about it. And here is thank you for your work from me and I am sure from hundreds and thousands of people around the world. And also I wanted to say, that I heard that people struggling in the water never look like they show in the movies. They do not screm, they do not wave their hands, usually the look very calm, very low (you can see only their head or shoulders) on the water. Look closely and attentively to this girl, when she is highlighted in this video - she looks pretty much like that. And when her mother and everybody on the beach do not take this kind of behavior as a warning, trained and experienced rescuers immediately react to those kind of "signs". Just please, please be aware of this next time you go to the beach, especially with kids! Thank you and take care.

So much respect for lifeguards the water is unpredictable. Saving strangers. Almost dead, Dead, drowning. Not only helping ripple in the water but people around the areas. Risking there lives for random people. Sometime they do it on their break when they don’t get paid. Even with no thank you they still keep them alive without hesitating!!!🤍💿

i remember when i was around the girl's age - possibly 7 years old - and my family and i went to the beach on the 4th of july. as expected, the place was insanely crowded and of course i wanted to play in the water. i went with my cousins out into the ocean, and they had gone farther out as they were older than me so i stayed a ways behind. i wanted to go in deeper to be with them so i did. we were out there for a while, not noticing that we were being swept deeper in and aside and then i lost track of my cousins. i walked down the beach back to my family only to be swamped by a group of lifeguards asking if i was okay and the whole time i was like ???? whats going on?? yes im fine?? mom why are you crying? then they told me they thought i had drowned and everyone was searching for me in the water thinking i had gotten down under. needless to say, we never went to the beach again after that. not until i was in my teens at least.
