I have friends who were present the night this song was birthed. One of them later helped record it. Here's the story: Jason Wade was the worship leader at his Christian youth group. During a time of worship and prayer with kids flooded at the altar, this song flowed out spontaneously. Picture yourself standing in God's presence that night overwhelmed by Jesus' love and power. That's the context for these words: "How can I stand here with you and not be moved by You? ...You're everything!"

I have been to 5 Lifehouse concerts, and have only heard this live once... Words cannot express what I felt; Wade's voice, his lyrics, his passion... it was beyond a concert - it was perhaps the greatest spiritual experience in my life. This song is perfection. Period.

For christians thats God, because i know God has moved me in a way i cant even explain, but for non beleivers it can mean many things, alot of people see it as love for a significant other. Im a worship leader in my college ministry, and we play this song all the time,cuz the words can best discribe the way we long to be with christ, we long to be with the father, and how we can be moved by his love and the power of the holy spirit! great song

I'm glad to hear the music that he plays/sings, every time no matter what song, because each song is just so different, it carries a new story and is just so meaningful. I read when he writes songs, he takes his own personal experiences and those of others to make the song real. For a songwriter to be that comfortable with themselves is amazing.

It isn't necessarily about God, or your significant other, the lyrics were written ambiguously (like many of their love songs) so that it can be about whoever/whatever you love, whether it's your God, your spouse, your g/f or b/f, your child(ren), your car, wtf-ever. I've seen them in concert three times and the first two times they played this song and believe me, it's an experience you can't get while watching it on this site. People will never be able to set a proper example of how a Christian should act. Only Christ is the perfect example...we are called to follow Him, not people. We are all sinners through and through. We mean well, but we are fallible...only God is infallible. I think the song can be interpreted either way (about a girl or God), but the way Jason was looking up toward the sky you can tell Who the song was really about. I know Lifehouse doesn't want to exclude any of their fans (believers and non-believers) so they wrote the song in a way that can be interpreted any way you want to. Just my opinion. I love the passion he puts into performing this song!

I love this song and yes it touched my heart also. I can relate to this song in a relationship standpoint with both God and in a personal one. This song helped me get through a bad breakup and now i reflect on this song when my faith is tested so it goes both ways...Some people say that it is such a simple song and not their best but make a spiritual connection with the song and see if you don't get the "goosebumps". Those who believe anyways..not pushing any views on you...dont get me wrong.
