He's been with them since 2004... Just hasn't done lead vocals but he of course played bass and did the harmonies.... Love the blend of their vocals!

I'm on a mission, resuming transmission That checked out for too long Was put into submission 'Til I wrote down it all But the truth is I cannot be trusted With what's in my head Soon the crowd's position's braced With getting out of bed Wake up and pay my dues 'Til I'm blue in the face Falling in line with the rest 'Til I'm out of the race But I'm losing it over nothing Just clearing space You can only dance with the darkness When dawn takes place 'Cause we're just a speck in this world And they say "take it or leave it" Short on stardust, But there's still time I needed you to hear me out And free me from all my doubts Now you found me I can't feel you But there's still time Yeah, it doesn't mean when I am low No one's ever been this close Can you hear me? It's not easy to change In a world of chaos 'Cause in layman's terms I was the big boss Choking down the last Of my entitlement I kiss the ring goodbye While we're still young But follow through in the light of it I thank my lucky stars For this life of ambition I have you and the life of a musician Push the reset button Reboot up and take what you get Let love in, take care of the rest of it 'Cause we're just a speck in this world And they say "take it or leave it" Short on stardust But there's still time I needed you to hear me out And free me from all my doubts Now you found me I can't feel you But there's still time Yeah, it doesn't mean when I am low No one's ever been this close Can you hear me? Can you hear me now? Short on stardust But there's still time I needed you to hear me out And free me from all my doubts Then you found me I can't feel you But there's still time Yeah, it doesn't mean when I am low No one's ever been this close Can you hear me?

Probably a song that tells us about God and its hard to have faith with all this distractions and our sanity and our sins are hindrance but he still knows that no one else will get close because God will always find him so he want to have some hope. Stardust is like a wish or hope to his wish. This song is really something. Space and Faith are my favorites.

Long time Lifehouse fan. First time listening to Stardust, and I can't help but hear the melody of Phantom from the Opera's All I Ask of You. I can interject the lyrics right to the beat.

I kind of feel like the higher vocal part in the verses doesn't fit very well. But still an awesome song. When "cause we're just a speck in this world" comes in, it sounds awesome. Their voices really complement each other.

My take on it.... First.... Stardust definition = "especially in the context of success in the world of entertainment or sports is a magical or charismatic quality or feeling" I think that the meaning is: In the beginning he talks about checking out for too long and that "the crowds position braced with getting out of bed"... Meaning that whether the response from the crowd is good or bad was the determining factor as to whether they were considered a success or not. "Waking up and paying my dues til I'm blue in the face falling in line with the rest til I'm out of the race"..... In the industry the need to "pay your dues and fall in line with the rest" is very real. "Cause we're just a speck in this world and they say take it or leave it"... In the industry everyone is replaceable. When producers, record labels etc offer you something it's not so much open for discussion... You can take it or leave it. Then you are stuck doing what they want and leaving what you WANT to do creatively behind. Basically.... They did what they had to do until they were chewed up and spit out. Now they are "short on stardust" (meaning above) but not giving up. Instead.. They are rediscovering what they loved in the first place..... No matter the response. That's my take on it 💁
