New sub here. This was a nice little car camp. I sleep in my car when hiking and generally adventuring somewhere. I love the sound of rain on the car roof, I find it’s like white noise. Mac & cheese looked awesome. Take care and greetings from the UK.

@@lifeinmyelement I’m currently living in a Vauxall Zafira, I took the back bench seats out, put a mattress in and it’s like a mini camper now. I love the freedom of living out of a car, and living costs are super low. It’s tougher now the weather has turned here in the UK but looking forward to better weather next year. Do you live out of your car full time?

There’s something so soothing about being out in the rain sometimes…. Especially when camping and your nice and dry and comfy… Loved your grilled Mac and cheese mess…lol Looked tasty! 😁 On the other side of the Atlantic, there’s a young lady name Claire (Wildbeare) that does wilderness camping videos. A small Tarp, some decent strength magnets, cut (or buy) a couple poles. A hank of paracord & a couple stakes. You can build a rain shelter attached to the rear of an SUV.

❤ Rosa anything you like, like coffee is worth during right. I saw a can if busetlo Coffee that's the best. Seltzer machine I don't know much about them, but sounds good. Hi there. I use a reflective sheet to protect my dog in the car. I use magnets to fix the sheet up to save trying to set guy ropes up. Much easier trying to set a tarp up on your own, especially if windy.

It happened to a friend , the candle was on a cabinet in the living room , the cinder (from the nite before) landed on a stack of magazines and just smoldered until after they left for work, about mid-morning it turned serious. The fireman said its “common” to them , and the “gel candles are the worst” . I was thinking good to know, had never heard of that

The classic KD can be improved upon greatly with a few additions but -- Annie's for the most part is a lot better. $1 to $1.50 more per box though. If not more depending where you are. I tend to wait for the 12 pack of KD to go on sale and then stock up. HOWEVER, nothing beats purely homemade Mac n Cheese with whatever noodles you desire and a homemade cheese sauce started with a roux and completed with the proper cheeses. Also steamed cauliflower added is pretty damn good.

I'll be honest... I don't do much thinking about it. I did in my first couple years of travel but now I'm just used to it. I'm always a little scared but I've found the more I think about it, the more scared I will get. I don't think the fear will ever leave
