This is very true. I recently made a comment about my experience on the latest Dhar Mann video about fat shaming and bullying and I received negative comments that were bullying and fat shaming. These words from people who think that they are entitled to say anything they want to about a person’s weight are hurtful and harmful. It doesn’t matter if it’s coming from family or total strangers. After saying this, I fully expect to get the same kinds of responses here on this video. Regardless, I wish to thank you, Luis, for sharing this message. Hopefully most people will heed your words and be better human beings.

Last year on March 11th, I was with my friend and her family at a Chinese & sushi restaurant for her birthday, and her father ordered enough sushi to feed 30 people even though there was 12 of us. I still don’t know how we managed to eat all of it without throwing up. I ate about 16 rolls, 8 shrimp tempura and 2 bowls of rice. When I showed my dad’s friends, they body shamed me, saying that, “You’re never gonna get the ladies if you keep stuffing your face. You gotta like a buff bodybuilder to be popular.”. But I’m actually very skinny and stronger than I look!

I cried watching this video because I have a similar story. I am blessed to say that I am cured of my multiple eating disorders. It has taken years for me to recover. It is not just about eating healthy and exercising. My self esteem was practically nonexistent. Words can hurt. I went to support groups and therapy and I had a loving Mom. I learned that I have worth and value no matter what size I am. The right words can heal. As I built my self esteem by loving myself, I learned about nutrition and exercise. I learned to have tools to cope with life’s problems by not overeating and purging. Life is precious. Everyone has worth and value no matter how big or how small a person is.

That wouldn't burn her organs or fuck up her hydration nearly enough to cause prolonged unconsciousness. The usual reason for vomiting to cause fainting is your potassium levels dropping which takes a LONG time. I have chronic nausea (medicated for it), poor blood pressure and anemia and even with all that, when I developed bulimia I didn't have problems with fainting for a good while. I mean, I get everyone's different but organ damage after a week? GET REAL! And I was a red risk patient too!

This low key hurts watching. I have bulimia and I’ve been struggling with it. Im trying to get better but it’s hard. My parents don’t know though, I can’t bear to tell them. But yeah, for anyone who’s thinking about it, don’t. Ur flaws are beautiful and beauty isn’t some “skinny” or “perfect” thing. Eat all you want :)

Body shaming is so wrong & completely unacceptable in every way! I know people who have been in Stephanie's situation with eating disorders, such as bulimia & anorexia, mainly because of negative comments made by family members about their weight/size. Eating disorders are very real & serious, they can cause you to faint, become dehydrated, malnourished, otherwise very unhealthy & even death can be a risk! This video depicted this reality very well. When someone constantly makes nasty, derogatory remarks about your appearance, obviously it's going to offend you, and some may already be suffering with poor self image & low self esteem. Think before you speak. If you are genuinely concerned about someone's weight, please let them come to you first! Then choose your words very carefully. Calling someone "fat" is never appropriate. Nor is telling someone that they're "ugly" because they're overweight, or that nobody will love them or find them appealing. *Words can do more damage than you'd think* Be kind always!❤️💯 Beauty comes in all shapes & sizes. Thanks Luis for shining light on such an important topic!✨

When you fat shame your child or do anything harmful to something they can’t control it makes them feel insecure think about what it would be like if someone did that to you! Remember when you shame someone for something they can’t control that could be you someday!

If everyone only knew how many people go through feeling like they aren't good enough because of their looks. As a female who has always been bigger than other girls, I can't imagine my own parent putting me down about my weight. It's hard enough when you have family and friends that are smaller than you and knowing that no matter what you do, you'll never look the same body wise. I hope anyone seeing this video or reading my comment realizes how beautiful they are, inside and out.

This absolute shame of a father figure really calls his daughter fat when he gets two burgers and two chocolate shakes, he really should be the one eating the lettuce wrap. Made me so mad when he said "I'm glad you understand, sweetheart" and went down the stairs happy after fat shaming his own daughter. No one should fat shame anyone, it doesn't matter if it's family or strangers.

That's too bad his daughter had to go through that and her dad would say something like that if I had a daughter I'd never say that to her he looks like he could lose a few pounds himself he don't look too slim to me yes I'm nerve to tell somebody else how to lose weight especially his own daughter that's too bad I'm glad he apologized to her doesn't matter to me if my daughter was a little overweight it doesn't look good to be too skinny thanks for sharing this video this is a Life lesson to teenagers that you don't always have to be skin and bones to be loved and like to have friends from Terry

Thank you for posting this video and showing the world treating someone like that isn’t ok. And words and actions like that cause eating disorders. This hits home hard because I nearly lost someone very close to me because of bullies that picked on her weight!. People don’t know how powerful those words and actions may be and what it can cause. So please before you pick on someone’s weight look yourself in the mirror and ask how you would feel if someone would do that to you. How you would feel if the person your bullying gets an earring disorder because of you and how you would feel if this persons earring disorder got so bad that they lost their life because of you.
