Often I sit outdoors and watch the stars by myself. Then I see something interesting and want to know what it is. In Space Engine you can point there and then travel there. It blew my mind when I saw that those few stars that are positioned in a diaond shape, one of them is 1000 light years away, and another one only 300 lightyears, so they aren't nearly in a 2D diamond shape, they aren't even near to each other.

Unreal man! for some reason I find it all the more spectacular that this isn't just CGI, but a real virtual place that LifeLive42 has been. considering the odds nobody will ever be there again or stand in the same place (or fly). This moment is unique . . . but will be lost in time . . . like . . .tears . . . in rain . . . Only joking its recorded. But I do feel these moments are indeed unique to the journey of the player. I'm really looking forward to how Virtual Reality will add to an experience like this, You would be able to trick your brain into really thinking you are watching a sunrise on an alien world. Its almost a humbling prospect.

2:40 Take a moment and imagine as if that were our worlds. Imagine we have societies on both the planet and it's moon. Be able to travel back and forth. Be able to dial a phone call to some friends on the other planet and say "that's a beautiful planet you live on there, buddy" while actually looking up at it..Oh the possibilities of life is endless.

Great thought. Imagine trying to text/call someone. Let's say you are on Earth and I'm on Mars. Every word and text I send to you will have a delay cause information from any electronic devices travels at light speed.

two unfortunate people accidentally pressed the down-vote button while awing at the amazingness of this video and it's quality. 1440p :O But you know what would have made the video twice as awe-inspiring? If you added an extra 30 seconds of zooming out to the entire universe!
@WheatleyOS9 жыл бұрын
***** what's funny is normally, somebody would say that just has to do with your internet connection, but in this case, it really is the computer graphics processing power. Also, you actually don't need a really powerful computer, because I am watching this on a Chromebook, it's really just about a computer that isn't too old, I guess. Then again, my computer is slightly higher resolution than 720p, but I think it still renders the higher pixelation, just there's not enough pixels to fully represent the image. Still, I still see the same thing for 1080p as with 1440p (I have a 768p screen, although that's not a technical measurement for screens, it just means my shorter screen-length is 768 (x1366) )
@WheatleyOS9 жыл бұрын
***** wait, you mean the GAME itself lags? Lol I didn't mean my Chromebook can run Space Engine, I thought you meant watching this video in 1440p. I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 that I play this game with, if you mean that. And yeah, mine lags a little on Space Engine, but that's just because of how much it has to render of course. When you zoom out to the whole Milky Way, it is only rendering the Milky Way as a single object, however, if you zoom in, it will start to render thousands of stars at once, although they will just be rendered as dots with a given color. As you stay in one place, it will start to render in more surrounding stars, depending on how fast your computer is. It is, though, the graphics processing unit which is what is used for rendering Space Engine -- that and/or the CPU, if you don't have a very powerful GPU. My Lenovo was customized to have a very weak GPU though, because I wasn't the one who bought it, and so I have the same lag issues, probably for the same reason you do.

These vast infinities of the heavens. The surreal amount of beauty contained in the cosmos. To think we understand it is beyond stupidity. To think that we can make any sense of this beautiful chaos around us. The sheer scope if all of it compared to our miniscule spot that's been given to us. We think that we can understand it. Hell, some think they have all the answers. We don't. We won't. We shouldn't. Beauty comes out of chaos. Just leave it be.
