The reason the nomination didn't go to a more liberal candidate like Sanders or Warren was a strategy by the Democrats to get people in swing states that hang more center or are not far-right Republican. Sanders and Warren are just barely on the outside of the Overton window for this election because of how far everything is to the right. Voting for Biden will slowly move that window towards the left so that, in the future, a candidate much like Sanders, Warren, or AOC will have a better chance of winning. Biden might not do anything significant, but Trump can make things four times worse. Significant change still might not come in our generation, but I'm willing to sacrifice that so that in the future the change is the next generation's present.
