Wow, mom is awesome. Protecting her babies from the nasty, rainy cold weather. She takes the head winds straight on and the babies are behind trying to take cover under and near her. Sure can't wait for this weather to subside and bring in the sunshine. Many nests are dealing with this awful weather, some even have snow. I feel for the baby eaglets. Parents are doing an awesome job protecting them and comforting them to make them feel safe. Thanks LifeMedia. Great video!

I wonder about all the other eagles and wildlife in those states when a tornado goes through. I used to live in Iowa so I know how the wind can be so strong at times. I agree with everyone that mom and this year;s dad are doing a great job.. It seems D32 and D33 are getting along better than the three eaglets did last year. not picking on each other as much.

I adore THIS mom..always there for her babies..the other nest mom and dad are very good parents feeding their little guy..and are close by when storms come..but do not get in nest..to comfort the poor scared baby..I do have to add..at other nest if parents get in nest and do not have food little one bites their feet...lol

Does anyone know that on Decorah north that mom left before the storm yesterday and has not been back since? DN9 has not had anything to eat except scraps, a bone with a paw attached is all he had since yesterday. Mr. north was on the nest all last night with DN9.
