"Give yourself permission. Don't dent the world your contribution." Singlehandedly some of the most motivating lines I've ever heard, even more than what I've heard from other professionals (not to rag on those professionals though). Thank you so much for this video :]

I don’t know why but your video is so therapeutic that made me tear up. I got affected by layoffs a month ago and I went through ups and downs and now I’m feeling exactly what you went through. When I was working I didn’t feel this way at all. My mentality was pretty strong because I truly loved what I’m doing. The only time I had difficult time was when there were people who’s being resistant to the positive change that I’m trying to make. And after watching your video I just realized that I was being like that to myself! I was the person who’s making me to go through hard time. This is the best insight that I gained most recently. Thank you for tackling this topic on your video. I support you to talk about these type of topics because it’s so helpful for people who’s going through layoffs and unexpected challenging moment. *I also highly recommend this book called Creative Confidence by Tom and David Kelly for everyone!*

The widest shot in the park with the big tree and the shifting light was really really cool. Something strangely pleasing about the soccer goals lining up evenly also. Very nice video, topic, and good vibes. Good luck with your next script! I struggle with it a lot too. My experience recently is that the best ideas seem to drop into your mind just at that moment after you've pretty much given up. I'm not sure who told me that would happen, but they were right. It's all part of the process even when it's so painful some days.

Definitely this was a video I needed. I have just graduated and got into 2 jobs. My first one was into Accounting where I felt like I didn't know anything when I saw the amount of workload and the work. I was feeling like giving up constantly and my confidence went super low. I left the job the next day and everyone started calling me stupid for doing that. The second job I started in Equity Research which I enjoyed but, whenever I started getting stuck I started being skeptic about my skills and then started getting demotivated and eventually I left that job as well after a week. I am so confused why this kept on happening but I am glad to see someone facing with the same issues and now I know how to tackle it.

I just came across your channel a few days ago. After consecutively watching your videos and listening to what you have to say, I just can't help but keep coming back. Truthfully, I've been watching videos like this hoping for a spark to reignite the passions I’ve lost. It's very hard, especially when time is running so fast and I still don't know where I am going with my life. I am not very good at expressing myself, but the things you say and show resonates a lot to what I am currently feeling. Your videos just gives me a great amount of comfort. Just the thought that I am not alone and that there is someone out there who knows and understands what I feel is enough to keep me going. You are a great storyteller and you don't know how much your videos inspire me to keep moving forward and keep trying to figure life out. Thank you!

I just came across your videos recently, and honestly I don't think the universe could've timed it any better. I'm currently in the chapter of my life where I'm giving myself permission to be creative, to be free, to allow myself to be me and watching these videos have been constant motivation and reminders of that dream. The story telling and film style keeps me hooked and the videos are never too long because somehow you manage to completely say so much, so effectively in 10 minutes or less. I hope that one day I can make videos and influence people in the way you do. 💕

When I used to study or work in my art studio I figured a couple of things out. It’s distraction, which are all the things you mentioned at the start. I’d put on headphones with classical or something rhythmic to distract the front of my brain that was where all the distracting thoughts were manifesting. Lyrics in song were no good, they demanded my attention. But the music on its own, I could focus for hours on what I needed to do, with some breaks in between. Getting started is always hard. But this helps. How well, was determined by how long, often I’d be into it straight away, at worst, a couple of hours on a 5 hour study stint. I’m an artist, just sitting down to do it was not enough, finding my way into a work was the practice.

“...and it wasn’t even the work itself that was hard. It was mostly just the process of sitting down and starting and then to keep going” I can truly relate to this. I am currently transitioning from corporate to freelance. I am really grateful to do the things that i truly love (esp that i follow my own schedule now 😅) but the down side is that maybe i got too used to following one that i feel overwhelmed with ALL the things i wanna do. Sometimes i mix up things from WANT TO DO and NEEDS TO BE DONE even if i am truly aware that i cannot do everything at ones haha and yeah those days that i struggle to stay in the zone. The tragic moment of having lots of ideas all night but struggles to actually execute everything (may it be my own project or for my clients). And i end up procrastinating then get exhausted. It’s really overwhelming. This is what i’m trying to overcome with....slowly 😅 Would love to read that book now. Thank you for this video, Riza. Take care! - Esan

To be honest, I have so much creativity and innovations that benefits the world so much that its needed for the next challenge of what is really important but I never bring it to a concept or a product at all. I stress myself of not doing it and or doing something I really do and blame myself for it. Seriously, it gave me headache and sadness that I lost myself in the process. It is been ongoing for now 3-7 years. Since its a new year, I thought to try a new challenge of what you said give yourself permission. To create to dream to achieve what your hearts desire. I'm also want to make a career on KZbin as you but the voices in my head say otherwise but I taking steps, also an filmmaker and painter. Again, just give yourself permission.
