Well, Sandra....I'm 74 and let my hair go white about 4 years ago. I love the freedom of expression it's given me, and decided to make the most of this part of my life. I live singly in a small log cabin in the woods, heat with a wood stove, and enjoy a cup of tea and a good book as the weather turns colder. I've always had a couple pets to enjoy life with, especially since my own three children have grown and flown.....I also remember Romper Room from days gone by. It feels wonderful to still have a connection after all this time. Stay well, and thank you for everything!

Life is short. How true that is Sandra, particularly as one gets older. Too short to hold onto bad/ negative thinking. I find that as time is seemingly going so quickly that there is an urgency to not put off doing the things that really matter to me, I.e. inviting friends or family for a visit or meal. Tell them you love them and they matter to you. Reading my bible, correcting the food I eat, smiling more, being more patient. This seems to be high on my list of priorities in my life at present and I must say from watching your videos I have had my eyes opened to what’s important in life. I Thank you for keeping this channel. This is a great video… it’s funny what some of the ASSumptions were. In nursing school , one of the first things learned is never make an ASS of yourself by ASSuming anything. I’ve contemplated finding a part time position but not sure I want to be “ obligated “ to a schedule. As a nurse since 1983 to 2019 I have had enough of “ schedules”. I’m 71, a natural redhead , now blonde. Professionally I have seen the health results of coloring the hair, the fake nails, and many other chemical usage to stay young. I never found it worth the risk of dying young or loss of health as a result.

But I understand why you chose not to. Freedom and family are so important, especially in retirement years. Freedom is one of the best parts of retirement. Hi Sandra I didn't know you were on Romper Room. I sure loved that show as a child, I am 61 years old today and I try very hard to always be a "Do Bee". :). I love your channel so much and you have been such an encouragement to me. I really felt inspired by you to reclaim my beauty and feel better about myself. For awhile I was comparing myself to what I was in my younger years , before age and illness took their toll. I was failing to appreciate that there is a type of beauty that comes only to older women and I realize now that I don't want to miss my chance to be who I am today. Hello Sandra ❤ all you say can relate wholeheartedly 💯 I am 71 yrs old same as you in regards to that my Husband also passed 2 yrs ago & although I miss him more than words can say I am not lonely but find the grief worse can like you say be triggered just sitting thinking of our life together or hearing certain songs. I talk to him all the time know he's safe in God's loving care & that 1 day we will all meet up again ❤ I never get bored word doesn't exist. I love life trying hard to keep fit/healthy as have a huge bucket list lots of goals. Blessed as we have 4 beaut children (2 boys & 2 girls) loved it that we saw them grow up together marry & have 7 grandkids 8th due next yr ❤ Very lucky as we often all see each other & know anyone of them would help me as I them if needed ❤ Take care & keep your videos going love them thanks xx

Sandra, I’m a Capricorn, too! I appreciate your thoughtful responses. It’s been almost 10 months since my husband passed. I don’t want to forget him, but honor him in the right way. I want to move forward as I know he would want me to be happy. It’s a day by day thing and as you said grief will come in waves. I’ve just joined a widows group and will be having dinner with another widow tomorrow evening. I look forward to learning about her and maybe we can plan to travel somewhere. Friends are so important and I’ve not had any here. God is my best friend and my husband was my second best. Talking about your hair brought back memories of me coloring my hair and it was getting resistant to color due to so much gray underneath. I had to stop years ago and went gray naturally. Some told me I would regret going gray, but it actually took stress off since I couldn’t maintain my color and the gray matched my skin tone. You are a beautiful soul. ❤️❤️

Everyone is in Heaven and just left me behind! Not Fair! Lol I know when it’s time Father God will call me back home! Sandra this was fun ! Funny what a fine line there is between assumptions and what’s real ! So many ppl have assumed I am a certain way either bc of my upbringing, my family dynamics or my looks and when they have met me thru the years always say “ oh your nothing like I assumed u were or should be! Lol Rabbit hole story , as you know I’ve been battling cancer almost two years now (thank you for your prayers) and my pain level is not always the best but I always look as good as I think I should ! I say that bc all my drs say to me, Babs you never would know ur sick bc you look amazing ! I guess when ur sick we should look awful ?? :) I find that funny for a couple reasons . One is bc when I fix myself up they assume I’m not sick and the other goes to my mom who was always at the dr for something and none of her drs believed she was sick bc she looked good so she felt she never got proper care ! 😊That brought a chuckle to me bc I still hear her say that ! She would say I’m not gunna look like a dog so they believe I’m sick 😂 All of us have different feelings, emotions, and outlooks on life and those belong to us and that’s how we move forward remembering all our beautiful memories and gratefulness of the ppl who have surrounded us with love and support ! Without God and our family we would be playing ring around the Rosie with ourselves teehee! God is my lifeline! ❤I agree u can’t think of the what ifs bc if we do it ruins our todays ! I am 81 and have been bless by God to undergo TAVR (aortic valve replacement). I learned that drugs I was placed on took my speech and writing skills. I recommend KZbin for research for side affects.
