Hi Sandra, Wonderful to see you in this beautiful setting at your son's home and the lush vegetation. As always a beautiful video with wisdom to feed our soul. Living with a porcupine resonated with me and like you ...when it's the "love of your life" it becomes a challenge. The power of the mind is key in transforming our lives. I keep a quote in the note section of my phone for referral and a reality check ...it's from a book I read from James Allen published in 1903 ...a man wise beyond years at that time. Thought you would appreciate it .... A man's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.” Enjoy your time in Nashville and absorb the beauty. Love and Hugs..... Sherry

Sherry, What a very wise and poetic quote from Janes Allen. So beautifully phrased and still so true and relevant today. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us. This is one I am also going to write down and keep. When the love of your life turns out to be a porcupine we have to learn how to dance to keep away from the quills, because we know they couldn’t live without us and underneath that armor if quills they really are living porcupines. ❤️. It’s been 2 years ago that you gave this video. However, this is definitely one of the best videos I have listened to. Currently I am guilty of not doing all 3 of these daily life practices. Thank you for putting your wisdom out into KZbin land. I appreciate the time and effort it took to do so. I will be watching this video many more times until I have developed better life habits. I am 70 but we’re never too old to learn and we are a work in progress. ❤️

I listened to this video over and over again today. I can't believe that this one popped up on a day that your subject would totally apply to the event in my life in removing a relative relationship. Some one who takes you in and out of the closet at their convenience, other words you are needed one day, left to hang on month's before you hope to hear from them again...I shut it down they are not totally aware yet, but will be. At this time, my time is precious and won't wait on them. Hard to put in right words, but like they think because you are older you have nothing better to do but wait for them, then they are a no show or phone call (hope I am making sense), and I have come too far and now protective of myself now. Thank you Sandra.

Animal welfare = social welfare. Tennessee has very backward and horrible animal welfare laws (dogs on logging chains legally) very bad for people and communities and the dogs themselves. Decades of activism have not budged the “needle”. Things won’t change unless we speak up and keep demanding the decision makers do better .

My mother in law shared with me a great way to set intention when you first wake up. Now when I wake up and the thoughts that were kept at bay for many hours flood into my consciousness filled with schedules, tasks, etc. I watch all those thoughts and deliberately say to myself "this is going to be a very good day, something very surprisingly wonderful will happen today, a delightful little or even large vignette I didn't expect. That deliberate intent sets me up for the day in a good way and also as you pointed out, you are in the driver's seat of how you are going to experience your day. Remember: circumstances don't matter, state of being matters!

Lucky to find your videos dear Sandra, just two weeks ago... i watched many of them and seems found solution for a lot of my dilemmas and challenges. See, you are right, we just need to be patient and vice to navigate with whatever life brings... when you love your family when you worry about your children, even grandchildren you have to be able to forgive and wait and wait they to find some time to call you or come to visit you. I often felt alone, neglected, forgotten... nod needed, but that is part of our lives... you reach certain age when you need to get used to lonileness, pain, scare... now I have you and use every opportunity to meet you and learn something new, to see tha I am not alone and that out there there are a lot of people like me. As you say I just need to reorganise my life and do what I feel like doing... I am 71, still at good health and active thanks to my 8 year lovely dog, Daisy, pity that I can not send you a photo, I am cooking, she is there, I am in the bathroom, she is again, on the ponc . We go for long walks where I use every moment to listen, to smell, to feel... thank you for your lovely videos which are soooo inspiring and enjoyable at the same time... love the gentle music ( if you can tell us where is it from) soooo calming and beautiful. Thankyou again for everything you do for us lonely and for some reason disadvantaged people. Warm regards from Melbourne. We are coming out of winter and today is such a beautiful spring day outside. Please keep up the lovely work and wish you all the happiness in the world, love you as much as you love all of us, your supportive audience...

Sandra I actually reminded and replayed this 3x. My husband is 14 yrs older and very controlling. I often feel like a child, and learning now how to take control of my life. I have been in Tn for 2wks visiting my son and daughter. I fear the pouting I will get upon my return home. I brought my 2 dogs that I love so much. I crossed a hurtle by driving because I wouldn’t leave my pups for that length of time. I’m making some changes when I return home. Much love to you and a big thanks💕😀

My husband not only was a lifelong bachelor, but he is 13 years older than I am. I also brought my dog with me while visiting my son. He loves me to the moon and back, but working around his control issues has been a challenge I face in a daily basis. Enjoy you visit in Tennessee with your children and be the grownup when you get home. Kick that child out of the driver’s seat! ❤️. Sandra

I am so inspired about you zest for life, your outlook and your hip-ness !! You have an Iwatch and know how to use it. My husband (we were married in 1985 also) gave me one a few years ago and I made him return it. I loved the Sieko he gave me for our 30th anniversary but also was intimidated by the technology. Also, I shared your Chanel with my sister-in-law who is in her 70s and starting over. She’s basically alone and I know your videos will encourage her greatly!! I have chronic PTSD. I was doing well but had to triggering incidents last week. Several days in the bed followed, but today I awoke and thought about awareness, being the adult, and fortifying my mind and I was able to get up and out - yoga, beach walk, make a nice meal and spend quality time with my furry child. Additionally, I took to heart your other video advice and decided not to look up people on FB because I did compare my life to what appeared to be perfect lives of others. Definitely not a healthy past-time. Best. xx

So Susan...I subscribe to a site called Gaia and recently there was a very short film called "Ikaria - The island where people live forever." It's one of the blue zones in the world (where people live the longest). You are so right that we get to get up each day and make choices about every single move we make and every single thought we think. My mantra is and has been for so many years (it's been on my channel page since day one of my yt career) "We Are The Choices We Make". It's so easy once we realize that we truly are the only person responsible for ourselves. xo p

Hi Sandra 😘 It is a wonderful thing to be in control of our mind and thoughts ! That is what heals us and allows us to enjoy the new day! Sometimes we go to bed with things on our minds and decisions we need to make but by the next morning those thoughts seem to vanish and we do begin a new day Of awareness ! At my age I am always so grateful to awake with a clean slate ! Your a beautiful soul Sandra Hart Much love Barb 💕

I have listened to this tape, daily. It has helped me immensely. Sandra, how to do you live with a controlling husband and not call it some sort of abuse, a video about this would help ladies like me, as I have the same.

I was thinking about the topic of habits today. I have been with my husband since 1996 and we've developed habits together that keep us feeling good and positive about our lives. The years fly by so it's a good once in awhile to stop and acknowledge yourself and your decisions.

Yes, this is very important - thanks for addressing these areas. 1. self-awareness is the foundation for being able to act effectively on the world; 2. the Inner Child - over the recent years, it has become popular in self-help and other circles to give power to "the inner child". When making decisions, I do have a counsel of sorts in my mind - my inner child, as well as my adult self, and my imagined ancestors and those who come after me - "How will my decision affect the lives of those who are yet to be born?". My Inner Child has a "voice", but not a "vote" - not allowed to have the say-so in terms of the outcome. As a great general once said, (paraphrase) "It is normal to be fearful when going into battle...however, you cannot take counsel of your fears." Courage is not the absence of fear, but doing the right thing even if you're shaking in your boots. And, yes, the power of the mind is magnificent and sublime. It behooves us to develop our minds to the utmost. "Ad Astra, per Aspera!"
