Random advice: There is a LOT of information on your mini map.
@c0wg0d10 күн бұрын
- Play on at least Hard difficulty. I am a bronze 1v1 player and I can beat Hard with a random teammate 99% of the time. - I do not recommend Adam use Han & Horner. He should stick with Raynor, Kerrigan, or Artanis. They use a more traditional Starcraft playstyle. - Co-op doesn't really start until you hit level 15, but I doubt this series will go that long, which is unfortunate, but it is what it is. You don't really get super powerful until you gain more levels. - I do not recommend playing mutations. Just stick with the base co-op game, but with a higher difficulty. - Zeratul has very strong powers. Use them. Also collect artifacts to give you more powers in the top bar you can use. - Miner Evacuation and Scythe of Amon are the 2 hardest maps, in my opinion. I'd recommend not doing random, and just go down the list of all missions, depending on how many episodes you want in this series.
@nekrataali3 күн бұрын
I think Dead of Night is harder than Miner Evacuation because you have to defend more areas simultaneously, whereas Miner Evac you just have to protect one ship at a time. Having dedicated anti-air hit squads (like Vikings and Scourge) can wipe out enemy attacks while they're still piled together in transports. Other than that, yeah spot on. I haven't played ladder since Wings of Liberty and I can solo any mission on Brutal with any commander.
@Flanktank210 күн бұрын
If you change from "casual", things will get much more difficult, especially when your hero is low level. Also the "2" on your hero is your level. The hardest difficulty assumes you are either very good or have a maxed level hero. Leveling up unlocks more units/upgrades and some units get powerups (more damage/speed/health/etc) when unlocking bonuses. Each hero has its own unique units/upgrades/abilities. If you click the tabs for "upgrades" and hover your mouse over things, it will explain more about what you unlock at each level. Also hovering over buildings in-game can explain more about how the hero plays. For example zeratul's stalkers and DT's are super buffed but cost more, with 100 supply max. You also get to control the hero unit and use abilities.😄

Each Hero can be leveled to 15 and the prestiged for bonuses. I'd say keep it on random mission and raise the difficulty to get the extra experience percents. Avoid brutal difficulty unless you're both ready for onslaughts.

Man I loved co-op, played so many hours of it. As people pointed out you were play 'Causal' difficulty, turn it up as you play, it can get very hectic at max level. The "2" is your level for that hero, earn experience to unlock new units and abilities. Each hero has a very different plays styles so investing time in a particular hero is worthwhile in the long run if you like how they handle. Sampling heroes wouldn't hurt to see what fits your playstyle, this could be especially beneficial for Adam. Mutations add bonus EXP I believe but I can't remember. Frankly I'd stick with vanilla for awhile until you get the hang of the missions, but one mutation a week can be pretty funny content since they're pretty unfair. I'd like to see you guys alternate recordings between you two. Maybe next week we see Adam's point of view. Either way have fun you guys.

The higher the difficulty the more XP you will get, which means your commander gets levels faster which will unlock units, abilities and/or attributes. You can can easily do hard I would guess. Or a least one level up from Casual. Casual is basically for people who don't really know how to play starcraft for RTS' in general. Maybe have a read through your commanders descriptions before the next one. Each are quite unique and go off the standard starcraft gameplay model quite a bit. Jeff, Zeratul gets upgrades from finding invisible artifacts that you have to use an ability to. It will upgrade all your units as well as Zeratul himself, which also unlocks more cooldowns at the to of the screen (which will in turn need to be uplocked when you level up your commander from doing more and more missions. Awesome though guys. Been waiting for this for a long time. Keep em coming!
@nekrataali3 күн бұрын
Something too about commanders being different than their usual faction playstyle is they can have completely different hotkeys. Nova, for example, has hotkeys listed under "Covert Ops."
@Dead_Videos10 күн бұрын
Seeing you guys play coop was very fun! Reminds me of the old days of lagcraft, and when youd play other games. As others have said, you definitely should read through your hero abilities on the coop screen and realize that you played on the lowest possible difficulty. Just a tip i havent seen anyone else mention yet. Literally no heros in the game function like ladder. They are all different in some way. The closest would probably be raynor, kerrigan, and artanis, and they all get weirder the further down the line you go.
@christophec620110 күн бұрын
Coop is so great because of all the commanders. No need to buy them. You can easily play normal difficulty without paying (you need to pay if you want to go above level 5 - and Raynor, Kerrigan and Artanis are entirely free). And of course, play normal (and not casual). After some games, you can even use Zeratul on hard difficulty because he is so strong.
@Veetrill10 күн бұрын
The "Void Launch" mission is... fine. Not the hardest one, and not the easiest one of all. Your steamroll was because of Casual difficulty and because Zeratul is just OP. I'd recommend setting mission difficulty to Hard, then go to Brutal as your commanders level up and unlock new perks (you can check your commanders' perks in the info section). As for the missions, for now you could pick any except for "Cradle of Death" (too much hassle) and "Scythe of Amon" (too tight timings). As for the mutations, I'd advice against them for now. Those are usually intended for commanders that reached lvl 15 and then have some more Mastery levels on top of that. Besides, some weekly Mutations are just pain in the arse, and quite often you just need a specific duo of commanders to be able to beat them. Last but not the least, the end goal is... getting more levels. Each commander can be levelled from lvl 1 to lvl 15 to unlock all units, upgrades and other useful features. Then there are prestiges, which allow to reset your commanders' levels in exchange for buffing some aspects at the cost of nerfing some others. Then there are 90 Mastery levels, which are common throughout all maxed out commanders, and can be used to boost some of their features. And then there are even more 91-1000 Mastery levels which give you nothing but cosmetic rewards - you could do these, but only if you love Co-op very much.
@dankwarmouse624810 күн бұрын
Also a lot of those prestiges pretty dramatically change the way the commander works, which can be super fun and end up being way better than default. I love how creative blizz got with the race design in coop.

Hey guys, great video. I played A LOT of coop and just as everybody mentioned in the comment, casual difficulty is extremly low. If you are good in MP, I would say that normal would be better suited for you. Since you do not know anything at all about the maps, hard might be a bit too high for going in blind. Also, Zeratul is one of the most OP commander in my opinion. Usually I can play Brutal easily with is 3rd level and he is a character that does not require any macro at all. Jim, Kerrigan and Artanis are more conventional commander and are really need their level 15 to become strong. Most commander are inspired by campaign upgrades, the first 6 commanders being the closest to this idea and the last ones (Zeratul, Mengsk and Stetmann) are just completely original. Has for mutations, idk if lower levels help, but they are very difficult and can sometimes require specifics commanders with specific prestiges (unlocked by Leveling up you commander). You can try next week on casual/normal, that might be still doable, I only play brutal with lvl 15 characters to be honest, so casul to hard are kind of a mystery to me with mutations, I just know that you can lose in two minutes with certain weekly missions. P.S. : The mission you had was one of the easiest along a couple of the first ones. The hardest are at the bottom of the list.

for starter map: lock and load is pretty cool (capture & defend points on the map; and your home base is pretty safe) tip: keep more of an eye on your mini-map. It's an objective based game type ; clearing the map is cool, but "making it easier long term" is second to "not fumbling in the now". as for heros: the advanced hero's typically give atypical playing styles. * Tychus is hero units (he has no 'normal' combat units, only up to 5 heros) * swann (terran) & karax (protos) are awesome for support roles while building a (flying) ball of death * stukov's units are dirt cheap but die at a timer. He's great if you like to play "zombie overruns enemy"

so I think you two won't see this for god knows how long, but some things that may give you a hand with co-op. no one has the same layout when it comes to what they can use, what they see, and what they get from level ups. whilst I don't mean to be a dick, reading what your hero has can help you out and get you some bonuses in missions. for instance, Zeratul is looking for ancient relics. you get a vision as to where they are from that button up top, bring Zeratul there, grab the thing, you get a bonus for it. may be worth watching the preview to give you an idea of what to do. Jimmy just plays as traditional Terran, though with call ins. I'm not saying do hours and hours of research, but at the same time, Co-op is surprisingly deeper then you'd think

The most anxious thing in this video was to see if they'd figure out that they're playing on casual difficulty and everything is so easy to kill. You can tell they weren't campaign players. This map is indeed one of the easier ones, the only trouble you might have on Brutal is that you might have to deal with hybrid reavers really early on, the attack waves are actually much more troublesome to deal with than the shuttle waves. Once you get going, it's normal to end up clearing the map and surrounding the shuttle spawns. I recommend Void Thrashing for a short, fast paced map, it's not the hardest map but it's quite common to lose on Brutal here if you don't know what you're doing, especially with low level heroes. I fully expect you guys to lose your first Brutal Void Thrashing challenge! Btw, there are a set variety of enemy compositions randomly chosen each map, so even the same map could be easier or harder depending on the innate comp strength or matchup against your units. Good luck and have fun! It'll be fun seeing you guys figure out how stuff works in coop.

Basically, coop is not balanced. Every commander has their own broken mechanics. A lot of the time you need to unlock them by leveling the commanders up first though. But some commanders are just much more powerful at level 1 than others. Zeratul is powerful even at level 1. Some commanders are a struggle at lower levels until you unlock certain things.. When people want a challenge, they do the mutations. And often, specific commanders are better at dealing with specific mutations.
