I'm so impressed with the UK's human to human tradition of compassionate care that these professionals show! No judgement, no aggression just pure gentle care, connecting with the patients personal struggles. So different than the cold clinical treatment in the US, where patients feel they are only a name and number, instead of a human being in distress. Not that our responders don't care, they do. But they are taught that they always must always be mindful in their responses that these patients or their families are potential litigants against them. It's so difficult to convey to the patients that their care is the primary concern when there is the constant potential threat that criminal charges are always there hanging over them.

Several of these people had pets left at home when they were hospitalized. I hope they were cared for.

Please do NOT cook an egg with the shell on in the microwave. Put the egg (out of the shell) in a little bowl with a splash of milk and pinch of salt. Cook for 30-60 seconds (depending on your microwave). The salt helps the egg not explode. Used this method in a cafe.

There was a guy in our community whom his wife hadn’t been able to get in touch with for over a month (she was in another state more than 1,000 miles away staying with their daughter, son-in-law and new baby). She finally called the police for a welfare check. It was like a nightmare scene from a crime show. The guy had been dead for at least a month. His windows and doors were all closed up tight, the air conditioner was not working and it was over 90F (32C) outside and much hotter inside. It was just a scene of horror that my son (an officer with the fire department - he was called to help gather what they could of this man’s remains for the coroner) and other responders will see, hear, smell, feel and have a nasty taste in their mouths from the stench and the condition of the remains for the rest of their lives. Horrible and beyond sad. The city condemned the house and it was destroyed and hauled away.

37 suicide attempts during one shift is horrid. We always say we should have mental healthcare people available for just these kinds of scenarios but how is that even possible? I can't fathom the pressure on the ambulance teams. In the US, (where healthcare and mental healthcare sucks), we have a 3 day hold in hospital for people that try suicide. How the UK can send people straight home after is scary. I'm usually in awe over the healthcare system there.

10 years ago I found my friend hanging and he didn't make it unfortunately. There was no signs of mental illness or that he wanted to end his life. Unfortunately sometimes there isn't any signs and it's devastating to family and friends. Please seek help if you are having mental health problems

34:57 I know, right? What kind of crazy person would have a sword? Well except for LOTR fans, GoT fans, Shogun fans, Wheel of Time fans, Legend of King Arthur fans.... 🤔😐🧝♀🧙♀🧜 I think that woman needs to Stay In more. 🤣

Hard to watch that first case. Didn't give any indication of implementation of a defibrilator or even breathing assistance. I hope both were going on just that I missed it and that the outcome wasn't hindered by inadequate interventions. And while microwave explosions are rare, they obviously happen. Even boiling water in a glass with microchipping or small cracks can explode upon opening the door when he pressure and temperature radically change.

I put a boiled egg in the microwave and it didn’t explode till I got it to my mouth. Burned all my gums and tongue
