The Terry Lifestyle Lift is a new and innovative, top of the range Home Lift. Pressure sensitive safety edges stop the lift gently if an obstruction is detected either above or below. +general zod lol good point.. it would have to be installed only in homes without pets, or small children. Imagine the safety hazard. It is a neat alternative to the chairlift for handicapped or elderly though. But a lot of those are pet owners I bet.

PumkinPeanut That might depend on how quickly the emergency stop responds to pressure from below or weight from above. Alternatively, perhaps some form of railing system could be devised that would remain attached to the floor, but would open with the lift's door. And, with its relatively small size, a mildly industrious homeowner might be able to put up some walls with a door that could put the lift inside a kind of walk-in-wardrobe while also helping to keep children and pets out.

Hi Adrian, The Lifestyle lift is perfectly adaptable for children or animals. The lift can be put into a complete shut down mode with the use of a fob that only you have access to. The lift is fitted with very sensitive safety edges on the top and bottom. It will stop immediately when coming into contact with an obstruction. If there is anything on the floor above, the lift will not move. The Lifestyle lift meets all current lift safety and fire standards and is CE marked.

I will never sold my home if this wonderful machinery were available at that time! 3 years ago. My friend needs a OUTSIDE elevator, there problem are 72 steps to the front of the home, they need a OUTSIDE elevator and we like to know if your Co. is involved w/ other than inside lifts. Cost is about 9k pounds I believe that's probably installed. Not available in America, not sure if it meets codes, regardless, It looks like they only sell with installation in UK. Lift capacity is 250kg. I'm not a source, just was asking he same questions, and it seemed hard to find. Still looks like a great product.

I've seen this elevator in a couple different videos and configurations, now. I'm waiting for the one that can travel three stories, so my father can take his busted knees from his 2nd floor bedroom down to the basement when he wants to, without having to risk or suffer two flights of stairs.

Is that fully enclosed cabin you mentioned in the video soundproofed? Hope not. Because, I don't think anything would be more disturbingly funny than for my Grandmother's next door neighbors to hear her scream, "I'M COMING" for the full 5 minutes it would take her just to ride downstairs using that thing every time someone rang the doorbell! Family arriving for Easter Sunday celebrations would be a riot! I know my family, we'd plan staggered arrivals for a chuckle, ring the bell 20 times that day we would!

Table down on second floor (car won't go to second floor, therefore you will have a hard time putting the sofa under it. Car on second floor...... put sofa under it..... CAN'T get table on it... for it is STILL 3 feet protruding into the second floor. Me thinks thowist wouldist be spending some time with the local gendarmes after the elderly car rider stopped laughing and signed the will reallocation..

I really like the style of this little elevator. The only thing that concerns me are the sensors around the bottom. I know they're in place around the RIM of it but what about the center? Would the elevator stop if say, a cat, had the audacity to fall asleep directly beneath it? Also wonder if it could made a little more roomier.

I was doing tile work at a house in San Diego and the guy had an all glass elevator. The only problem was we could not use it . The was a real dick about us getting the elevator scuffed, chipped etc. Made us use the stairs. The real funny part was that we had to work in our socks. Yeah, no shit !
