I grew up about 45 miles from Colorado City. Saturday's they'd set up tables near Walmart and sell stuff. I've researched about the FLDS for a long time and this movie isn't even the half of it! The woman played by Kelly Rowan would have been kicked out long ago for just having hair not pulled up. all women and girls have their hair a certain style. Another thing when she was kicked out, they aren't allowed to take any of the kids, even over 18. It's a sad situation there.

Even if they’re adults, they shouldn’t be pressured or blackmailed or brainwashed into it. They should understand that their life is their choice and they should be able to make choices about who they marry without society or their family or their priests or anyone putting pressure on them to make a certain choice. They should know that whatever choice they make is good. And they should know that they’re not going to go to hell or anything for refusing to get married, refusing to get married to a certain person, refusing to get married at the time, or refusing to get married into a certain kind of marriage. Cults like the FLDS and The Irder And stuff brainwash their girls from a young age so even if they’re older, they’re brainwashed and have so much pressure put on them.

If that community truly allowed women like Judith to have free choice, she would've stayed with her first husband.
