This album still gives me the chills! Back when NJHC was all we loved we saw these guys at some small shows up in N. Jersey. Awesome bunch of guys. Ended up playing a show with them and my band up in Syracuse NY. Had the time of my life. All those memories of some of the best times ever. I remember the riffs, Scott was a killer guitar player, Ari on vocals was a huge influence on me. The drummer, whose name escapes me after all these years, played that kit like a linebacker crushing a receiver, the guy was a monster on the drums. He could play so fast, those pick-it-up beats, and the Bass player follwing right along holding it down, fuck man! I remember the pit at those shows, posi kicks, Adam and Sil pointing to the ceiling and lookin up, we danced like animals amd sweat to show our love of the music. Skater girls and X’s on our hands, the music was made for us and we were a part of thr scene that the bands created. Homemade J cards in our cassette tapes, on a Tascam 4 track recorder, we sold at the mall for $5! Haha! I’m so thankful for those memories, just kids but we dreamt of keeping the scene going forever. Music like this still makes me feel invincible, I feel 17 again and could walk through fire if Lifetime were the soundtrack! LONG LIVE NJHC!!!

Hey I'm from Rochester NY and was at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse every weekend in the early 90s. What was the name of your band?

@@evanstrait5466 Hey brother that was an awesome venue that you guys had back then. Our name was Of Mind, there was a sign hanging up above the sound guys board that read “No Smells Like Teen Spirit!” Or some shit. So, of course our guitar player started playing the riff and the dude came over the mic yelling at us! It was funny. It would be crazy if you somehow remembered us. I remember we had a good reception. Kids were dancing. We played some of old school emo hardcore, not the emo you hear now. We had fun that night.

Unironically their best work. This and the original mix of the 'Background' LP which is not what got put out by New Age somehow. The sound of an early 90s summer for me -- swimming and skating all day and then catching an amazing show at a sweaty VFW hall. Had epic times seeing these guys then whenever they came up to New England.

Im 48 and was in a band called Disregard and we played with Lifetime more than a few times. I had this 7’’ within a few weeks of it coming out and am listening to it now for the 1st time in maybe 20 years and I remember every bit of it. So awesome. I bought Background at a show when we were playing with Lifetime and I never knew there was an OG mix but I would love to hear that.

I probably listened to this record a zillion times they are great guys. My band was lucky to play with them many times. Driving in the summer going to a show with your windows down blasting this for miles with the sun beating on your face. Nothing but happy memories.

Scott and Justin wrote so much of this stuff and on the following CD they were that melodic sound lifetime had. Missed those guys.

@@pyrmdschms I met LIFETIME in 1993 or so in Ann Arbor, MI. They were on tour and brought BOUNCING SOULS along. Turns out, Dr Dan went to school here at U of M.
