In Germany school start when child ll be 6 year old.. before that children visit kindergarten from 3 yr to 6 yr. In kindergarten time you can also take leaves any time of year but when children start school you have to follow rules. Now you can enjoy until anfa 6 birthday.

It's not easy for parents without car plus winter. In UK, I have myself many times taken empty pram as shopping trolley itself or to post office if big parcel. Don't feel guilty and just keep receipt as proof if required. It makes loading unloading much easier and you even have lift.
