I thought I would answer a question I get a lot on this one, why didn't I call the police? First a repo is supposed to be done peacefully between 2 parties if possible. Second I didn't need the police I can handle myself, but things could get out of hand where I need them I know that, also you gotta know how far you can push someone.. What bothers me is how many people hate the police but as soon as someone farts sideways they call 911 as if there is an emergency..

For instance it took me 15+ years to start making a 150k salary in my field, but kids coming out of college expect it. They get a very rude awakening, spend years chasing a salary only to end up right back where they started. But besides that the younger generation gets a bad rap that IMO they don’t deserve.

He could have built the shed cheaper and he could have kept his place up and repaired but he didn't. I am of the opinion that if you can't afford to pay cash for a shed you don't buy a shed. These sheds are prone to be repoed and have a price buffer built-in. He probably thought if he piled up junk in front of it and hooked up electricity to it the repo wouldn't bother with it.
@superdave82483 жыл бұрын
@@beckyshell4649 That was my take on it as well. The owner thought if the location was difficult to get to, if there was debris all around it, if life electrical was incorrectly hooked to it, no repo man in his/her mind would touch this repo with a ten foot pole. Now with that said, a few observations. 1. Is it mucked up that the guy probably financed the shed for more than his home? 2. The guy is stripping the appliances for their base metals. He is hoping to get appliances for free and break them down for scrap metal sales. 3. I knew the debris around the shed was going to be a problem even before the guy started complaining. If it wasn't for the fact that the repo man was recording the repo, I'd wager that the main would have filed a claim for damages. 4. The wall and roof supports. All 2X4s. And the roof supports are about 4-6 feet apart. Yikes. A strong wind is putting a limb or a piece of metal right through that roof or wall. 5. I feel sorry for the dog. It deserves better.

I was in law enforcement for over two decades and I agree with you partner. Sometimes getting law enforcement involved does more harm than good. Especially with old school, backwards thinking hothead individuals like this guy. I’m not going comment on the state of the property, it is what is, not surprising why your there and why the guy has the attitude like he does. I agree 100%. with your assessment on the dog situation and it’s a shame the poor dog has to live in the condition like he does. He doesn’t get to choose to live like that. I certainly would like to give you a shout-out and five ⭐️ stars for the way you handled yourself. You held your ground and didn’t back down from a bully while still not condescending, nor escalating the situation and you set out to accomplish what you needed to get done. I was very impressed.

You agree with him even though he was breaching the peace and trespassing on the guy's property? Once you're asked to leave a home, you do so regardless of reason. By continuing to stay, the repo man committed criminal trespass. Why do you respect big businesses like Walmart more than you do private homes? If Walmart can ask a customer to leave, then a homeowner can order a repo man to leave. If the repo man refuses, the castle doctrine can be invoked.
@arturocamaney92352 жыл бұрын
@@SpectrumRob I was hoping the homeowner invoked the castle doctrine. Repo men are not law enforcement. They can't trespass on people's property. Who's going to show up at their funeral? Or name a highway after them? Nobody. If someone can be trespassed from a public library for not donning a face covering, then I can invoke the castle doctrine on a repo man if he doesn't leave within twenty seconds of being asked.

Dude, you handled this situation so beautifully. The confrontation went from very heated back down to professional / respectful within 5-10 minutes. I honestly believe that most people in your position wouldn't have had the poise to stay cool and relaxed, the confrontation would have likely kept getting more and more heated until something stupid went down. And kudos to the veteran for actually realizing that he was in the wrong, you could tell by the change in his tone of voice that he felt foolish for acting out like that. Not all men have the self confidence to freely acknowledge when they're in the wrong, so I will say that was pretty big of him. And in the end you guys even started to become buds, lmao..
