Is there any mechanical reason that one couldn't keep smaller tires but still lift the cart? We're doing a weird artistic build and lifting it but keeping small tires would help a lot.
@GolfCartInstructions2 жыл бұрын
Yes, mainly it's due to the bell of the wheel hitting the suspension parts either during install (and you can't install the wheel at all) or during turning. Sometimes you can get away with a significant wheel spacer and the wheel should probably have an offset too but you will have to play around with it as every scenario can be different based on the shape of the wheel, the lift kit and the cart.

Thanks for this very useful video. Two questions: 1) I notice you aren't using a torque wrench; what are the torque specs for the various bolts? 2) The long spindle bolt will bind and inhibit steering mechanism if overtightened, so what's the procedure for this? Tighten and then back off a certain number of turns? Thanks!

You're welcome! For timing, we torque everything down off camera. All torque specs for the included hardware are in the instructions (link below). Refer to your cart's manual for the torque specs on the reused hardware. It sounds like the brackets on the end of the shock got pushed together from over tightening. I would open these up some and torque it to the proper spec. Also, make sure you include all of the original hardware. rhox.us/images/LIFT-105.pdf

How do you adjust the camber on the front tires? I was able to get the toe correct by using measuring tape like your video but the front-passenger tire is still facing inwards and wants to lift off the ground when turning left.
@GolfCartInstructions2 жыл бұрын
There are no camber adjustments on spindle lift kits, only tow. They will only affect the height of a cart. Just some history on Yamaha: All Yamaha golf carts are manufactured with either negative or positive camber. Normally Drives have more of a positive setting but it will vary from cart to cart. The camber will continue to change as the suspension and steering parts wear. Our drop spindle kits compensate for slightly moderate wear. For carts with more wear, those parts will require replacement to achieve acceptable alignment and drivability. Some people opt to purchase an A-arm style lift kit because it replaces a lot of the suspension parts; whereas spindle lift kits only replace the spindles. In any circumstance where you have a cart with wear, those issues will be amplified when it is lifted if not corrected.

For off-road use... spindle or a arm lift?? Which is better? Assuming a arm?
@GolfCartInstructions3 жыл бұрын
It's really a matter of personal preference. A-arm kits are generally a little beefier and depending on the kit, it could give you more flexibility. You will have camber adjustment options with the a-arm lift and only toe adjustments with the spindle lift. Spindle lifts are the easiest to install but if you have any suspension issues (worn parts, tweaked frame etc.) it will be amplified with more height. The a-arm lift will remedy most suspension issues (not all) by replacing most of the worn suspension parts.

I liked your video. Does this kit fit on the efi quiet tech 2021 model?
@GolfCartInstructions3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, it does not. It only works on the Elecric and Non-EFI Drive2 carts. LIFT-313 will work on the EFI versions. This is a 3" lift. Due to instability at a higher height, we do not offer a 6" version for this cart.

@@chrissmith7730 For better clarification, we will be discontinuing the 6" spindle lift for the Drive. We will have other 6" options. We do still have plenty of stock of this kit if you would like to order it. We will continue to have the 3" spindle lift (LIFT-305).

We've never added a wheel spacer. You certainly can but it isn't common. Don't forget, your wheels should have at least a 1" offset so this will push the wheels out some too.

@@GolfCartInstructions i have 12" mod assaults with 23 " tires coming i have no clue if it has backspacing correct didnt say what that was when I purchased. I sure hope they work.
