Awesome review! I’ve got all kinds of Armstrong wings but have been looking into a Lift efoil and then using those wings to surf and wing etc. Part of these look like O’ahu?

Thanks! Some clips are from the south shore. If you're going to get a lift e-foil, I'd definitely just switch over for prone as well.

Great review! Just curious, but I'm on a Armstrong 1250. Kinda newbie, but starting to do 2 for 1s. Do you think the Lift 170 or the Takuma 1095 would be a better progression for me?...or should I just stick with my 1250 until I get better? TIA! 🤙

Between the 170 HA and 1095, I would 100% choose the 1095. It's been a while since I've ridden the 170, but I'd say the 1095 is easier to ride and turns way better. Pumping and stall speed wise they are probably pretty similar. With the 1250 you can definitely continue to progress with it but if your end goal is linking more waves/downwind the Takuma will be money. If you aren't too invested in Armstrong gear might be worth it to get a Project Cedrus mast + Takuma or be really cost efficient and go with the full aluminum Takuma set up. Hope this helps!

How do you think this compares to to new Lift 180 X that is coming out?

No idea but I’m guessing a lot better. Tried the 150x for a wave and that already blows the 170 away. Low end on the 170 is the only thing it has going for it compared to the 150x

Hi. I’m currently winging with the Lift HA 120 and glide 32 tail. Looking at extending my quiver for light wind winging. 8 knots or so. What do you think about adding the Lift HA 170 to my quiver? 180 lbs. solid intermediate level winger. Thanks.

I’d say trying to find a used 170 or 200 HA would be the call. Haven’t winged the lift gear but I think those are the only light wind options

Sick review, just bought lift 170 have had one session winging but I’m hooked. At 215lbs do you think it would be dock start possible at my weight??

I’d say with some practice yes but won’t be easy.

Aloha and thanks for a great review! Since I'm about the same weight as you, would you recommend going with the HA 150 when the waves get above shoulder high? Here on the Big Island, in order for some spots to even break, there has to be decent swell and therefore you find yourself on a good size wave. Mahalo!

Hi, currently no Lift 150 HA out but in waves that size I'd go for the HA 90 that just came out. Have been only hearing great things. However, It is a pretty advanced wing and is probably a 2 for 1 wing at 180 lbs. There's also the HA 120. It might feel locked in at shoulder high but it's super fast and efficient and you'd be able to link more waves with it.
