Lift adventure in Southampton

The load geared traction lift rattles and shakes when you're inside the cab but it doesn't apprear to do that when you're on top of it.

1:30 | The new floor numbering is really annoying & I don't like it. 3:40 | It is incompatible with Euro keys (which have a round cylinder) Southampton's streets-in-the-sky looks particularly nice. I didn't go in when I went as it was night. 5:51 | That lift's buttons look similar to 1970s Otis buttons, so it could be a design where they just replaced the pressel to satisfy the minimum disability regulation while not having to get a new panel. I like that as it means that the lift's character is preserved.

@beno i think Southampton City council ask thyssen krupp and the lift company to put those lock in to stop unauthorized lift surfing if your wroundring why Thyssen Krupp installed loads of lifts cus they had a office in Southampton they did also the lift in West Quay has been modernisation with kone ecodisc And even worse the people who rescue people from the lift is dumb lift engineers and one of them know you they since they maintain the lifts at my school

Is it normal on an otis 2000 when it gets stuck after a safety break? Also had the same problem with the locks i could only open the lift on the 10th floor and the lift was on 2. Its so weird

Otis 2000 lifts do not get stuck after safety break. A safety break is a common fault occurrence and almost all models of lift will recover from it. Although Otis mod logic shuts down on the second safety break when running at slow speed when position lost. With the Otis 2000, if it doesn't start it means that you didn't reconnect the safety circuit.

@@benolifts i think the inner door on that otis 2000 is dodgy it might have slipped out of position or something because its done it in the past and i didn't even safety break it when it did it last time. Thanks for explaining though.

Dose any one want to.know why Thyssen krupp install loads of lifts in Southampton well answer is.Southampton used to have a Thyssen krupp office wich sadly gone.WHY DAM you Thyssen krupp so.thats.why lifts at the marlands.and flats and carpark.because of the offices there and Southampton city cannciel asked.Thyssen krupp for.chep generic lift
