Thanks for the Video. Question? If one student is holding the top of the lift bag (hand control), and then controlling the bags dump valve to control the bags buoyancy, what about the divers own buoyancy control and dumping there own B.C.'s dump valve?

It's a great question. They can let go as needed to control their own buoyancy.

I'm working on my IDC. I think it's silly that all the requirements of an ascent are thrown out the window when ascending with the bag. The students don't signal, they don't look at their time, they don't look above their heads, and they don't have their hand on their own buoyancy control.

Very good video. But I think PADI should change requirements to have a second tank to fill lift bags instead of the diver's primary tank. Just my thoughts. But, again, very good video.

It really doesn't matter since the diver would be ascending anyway. It would be the end of the dive. Furthermore, there is no danger unless the person was already too low on air.

Really? On their knees? Why not just have them do it at the surface if they're just going to kneel? smh

When there is a current and fragile reef around, better to do it on your knees. Too many people think that everything should be taught neutrally buoyant without exception. This is such a blinkered approach. Protecting the environment is even more important than teaching skills neutrally buoyant.
