Lift Inverter or Lift UPS or Emergency Rescue Device (also known as ERD) is a special device installed in buildings to provide uninterrupted power backup to the lifts during the event of a power failure or blackout.
Emergency Rescue Device is better than Automatic Rescue Device as it provides jerk-free smooth operation and increases cable's life and the lift requires less maintenance.
In this video, we've covered Suvastika's Lift Inverter installed in Airia Mall in Gurgaon.
This project has a 20 KVA Lift Inverter that provides power to 1 lift of motor rating 10.2 KW. It is connected to a 3KW lithium battery. This lithium battery can provide uninterrupted power for up to 30 minutes to the connected lift.

Given this being a Toshiba lift, we can see a huge difference between it's own typical ARD system and the Suvastika battery backup system. Though majority here stick to emergency power in such cases.
