It's finally done. Welcome everyone to my most ambitious project as of yet, one I've spent the past couple months working on. I'm very proud, and still even now noticing tiny things I'd like to change, but I think it's done. I hope you guys like it as much as I do!

I like to think that this animation emphasizes what Benrey said about how he is only evil because of Gordon's actions. It may have been a spiel of funny improv, but it doesn't hurt to try to build a story.

Exactly! You hit the nail in the head. That was my interpretation the whole time- that Benrey tries to be good but Gordon's view shapes him instead. "I was supposed to be nice, but you forced me to be bad, so I'm gonna be bad."

This is incredible. All the little gestures, Gordon’s expressions and mannerisms (going Protect The Team but Notably Excluding Benrey)... The dichotomy of Benrey’s crush on Gordon... And Gordon’s disdain for Benrey.

I personally feel like Benrey has more of an obsession with Gordon, as his AI started with him asking something unreasonable to a normal Half-Life player. The two pushed each other to the characters they would become. Benrey was never nice to Gordon because right of the bat his AI basically treated Gordon bad to get attention, and so he became more fucked up to try to keep Gordon from progressing.

Aaaaahhh this is so good! Definitively the best addition to "list of things that made me cry about the end scene." b/c, you know, i was more caught up in the whole "playstation plus" speech and so feel it is always a worth acomplishment when something makes me cry.

Honestly, it'd be so cool if this series got turned into an animated show, and Benrey's feelings towards Gordon were more emphasized as being a confused crush that can't be reciprocated because the man he loves just treats him like a monster until he feels forced to become one. Great work on this!

I am only now seeing this. This animatic tells the story well from Benrey's perspective. He starts only to get in Gordon's way, mostly for attention and to help the series get it's footing, yet he escalates into a character who justifies his actions by acting as though all he wanted was to be noticed and treated like an equal in the group. Benrey is shown to us in this animatic almost as someone, (or someTHING), that just wants to fit in, and begins to fall for a glorified leader, a role that both Gordon in HLVRAI and Gordon in actual HL lore take on. I absolutely love this take on the character! It grounds him as something tangible, but keeps true to the narrative that Gordon does not like him, no matter the circumstance. Obsession can lead to brash actions, and what Benrey does at the end of the series is brash, and I love how this animatic justifies it. In other words, great job! ----(wow did I really just write a paragraph about a character from a series a streamer made? whoops...)
