Lift Off: BP Offshore Employees' Helicopter Commute

Every day, BP's offshore employees in the Gulf of Mexico travel through the Houma-Terrebonne heliport, located southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana, on their way to work. Behind the scenes, our aviation logistics team works from dawn to dusk to ensure each wave of helicopters takes off safely and on schedule.

This video gave me an opportunity to show my family and friends how we regularly commute to and from work. Most were impressed by the professionalism and clean appearance of the equipment and facility. Most importantly, it gave my family a little peace of mind knowing that BP is doing such a great job of taking care the people that work for them. I cannot express enough how appreciative I am for everyone at the Houma-Terrebonne facility, and all of BP, for their dedication to quality and safety.

Yes, and I'm also a private pilot and understand that oil rig helicopter flights are one of the more risky areas of aviation. Respect to the engineering crews and flight crews who keep everything safe.

Very impressive!!! That's the way to go to help employees a more confortable and safe transportation, especially when they're going to work for 28 days at offshore facility working 12 hours a day. Is more humane and have to improve their stay at the offshore platform. To me, though, I preferred a 14-day rotation for workers, even though it increases mobility cost of employees. But good health and safety is critical for these operators and the company itself. regards

Excellent video of likely the best run operation in the Gulf of Mexico. PHI and BP make a great partnership. Yes I'm biased, but I've flown in virtually every facet of helicopter aviation, and speak from that experience. Now retired. (and by the way, that's my old S92.)
