There are ten commandments in your bible and apparently they are given equal gravity but the sin of breaking them can be absoved through a loophole insofar as if the perpetrator is genuinely sorry they can appeal to Jesus and have the sin forgiven. So if a person is guilty of murder it is just the same as being guilty of bearing false witness (telling a lie) or coveting your neighbours wife, goat, camel or whatever. Is there scope for Jesus to say "No, I won`t forgive you because your crime on Earth was so evil and horrendous that it cannot be forgotten no matter how sorry you are or how religious you have become, you will not be accepted in Heaven" or does Jesus forgive everybody who appeals as a matter of course if they plead repentance? So the theory is that ex serial murderers can, if they go about it the right way, end up in Paradise whilst the sin of not asking for forgiveness for minor misdemeanors is punishable with everlasting fire and torture, seems like rough justice to me.
