Glad to see someone knows what they are doing.. I aligned my jeep and took it to the dealership for a recall fix and just asked them to throw it on the alignment machine. Got a call a day later they could not do it. Picked up my jeep with the hydraulic ram hanging down. Torn drag link boot. Scratches all over my aluminum 2.5t steering from a damn pipewrench. Such bullshit. Not many TECHS nowadays, just useless partswappers. Good job

5:50 Caster is a calculated angle and not live. You should always verify caster with another sweep to re-calculate. WinAlign makes a caster assumption during adjustment but you should re-measure (sweep) after adjusting. Also while using WinToe for final toe adjustment the steering wheel hold-down is not necessary as long as you center the wheel during the WinAlign process prior to selecting Ready.

I have Gen 4 Tacoma Pro and it came from the factory out of alignment. Didn't notice the front wheels were canted inward until 1K miles. Toyota did an alignment, but to the specs of a 23 Tacoma Pro because the 24 wasn't in the system yet. Should that make a difference? To me, they still look a little canted.

So we just purchased our 1st lifted vehicle. Should we take our vehicle to just any mechanic shop or should we look for a off road specialist type mechanic for the alignment?

I would use a reputable Offroad shop that has a Hunter Engineering Alignment Machine & Rack.

another way to describe castor is to relate the front angle like that of a bicycle's front forks. if you look the forks are angles forward and not s straight up and down. Thus this castor.

I'd like to know more about the different alignment machines and which ones Don't work on lifted trucks and why. So far I have taken my Taco with a 3" lift and UCA to 3 shops that don't know how to do it or just won't try.

I have a 2002 Ford F-150 2wd SuperCrew. I just had a front end shop install. All steel Torch off road 3 in lift/level kit spacer on top of my coils well everything went well alignment is all good except for the camber the tech said the adjustment is all the way out it’s maxed out you need longer upper control arms the Camber is off 2 degrees the inner tire will wear. Is there anything else I can do? Is there different bolts or a Camber kit? To get my truck back to specs?
@MountZionOffroad2 жыл бұрын
Are you saying the camber is actually off by 2 degrees? Or you are in spec and just will not be able to adjust any further if needed next time around? Rough country does make a knuckle for your truck with a 3" lift, something like that may be the best answer to correct this
@joecarreon48242 жыл бұрын
Hi sorry my mistake meant To say all other specs are ok except for the Camber I’m off 2 degrees . So as it sits I’m happy with the lift I cannot go anymore. Do you have a part# or name for that knuckle from Rough Counry? Will that get me back to spec on Camber? With out lifting the truck anymore? Thank you!
@DL101ca11 ай бұрын
@@joecarreon4824 the knuckle repositions your axles at a better angle and also the upper control arm attachment point to put ball joint at correct angle as now its stressed out of preferred range.

Ideally if the alignment shop can get it to factory specs that would be perfect! You don't necessarily need to know the lift specs to get the alignment set! For new Dodge and Jeeps we usually just put the T case in neutral. There is the manual neutral override in the dash but our techs prefer to use the T case so they’re not prying off dash panels

No, you should take it back to the shop that aligned it, they skipped a step!

If your F350 has a track arm then yes you can center the steering wheel without changing toe because the total toe is adjusted at the tie rod end not the track arm.
