He was a real nice guy too! He took good care of us when we came to LA to sing for Keith Pringle's choir anniversary. He invited us to his home two days in a row and lent us one of his cars to drive. Don't care what they say the man was alright to everyday people like we were.

703:7:27.. One word.. ICONIC.. What a rare gem it is to see the Late Rev. James Clevelad shout and glide across the stage like he did.. I'm grateful for videos like this, because it captured him as the iconic and true Christian he was, while having a good 'ol time in the lord. It's sad that people become better known and associated with the nasty scandals others bought upon his labored name. Instead of the many works they did while on this earth.. Rest on Father.. Cuz church ain't even started over in glory land..

whatever Rev Cleveland was or died from, doesnt erase the fact that he was the KING OF GOSPEL. There will never be anyone close to him in the arena of gospel. All these meaningless songs they are coming up with today is laughable. Everyone is concerned with popularity and having a certain beat instead trying to minister and save souls. Rev Cleveland spent many countless years birthing songs that will minister until the end of time.

@@dantejones5289 that's true, but that's not the point, Google "Gospel doesn't need another James Cleveland" and you'll see how many men were infected with HIV from James Cleveland, Donald vails, Ricky Grundy, Daryl Coley ect. Innocent lives were lost because in the 70s, the road to success in gospel music ran through James Cleveland, no matter how talented you were, if you weren't connected with James Cleveland, you went nowhere, there were a few lucky ones who came across Milton Biggham instead and were successful

The churches of today don't have time to help the people seek the lord and receive the holy ghost they are to focus on the people pocket books and wallets, rather than to see people to have salvation and a chance to gain eternal life. It's so sad that the leaders and saints of today churches are going to lose out on their soul resting in a place of glory. It is so sad that the most of the music that is being sang it don't deliver you it kills you spiritually because, it more about getting a name and money and truly not having a meaning to minster to someone soul;
