I am in awe of ya'll in this moment. A log cabin wood stove Christmas in all its coziness and holiday splendor. Your new cabin build is truly amazing. Everything you have in your Tennessee forest is made by your own hands and creativity. Its truly a blessing to watch y'all on this spiritual journey. Merry Christmas!

Amazing how you work a job, take care of your family and still have the time and energy for these projects. The world needs more men like you! Next you will be shooting down the drones while hoisting logs at the same time😂

Be careful…you scare me out there alone with all you do. Glad your wife joined you for Christmas. Merry Christmas!

You’ve gotten some tips from Shawn James, I see. 😊. You’re cabin is going to look great! Looking forward to seeing the progress videos and the finished product! Please be careful, brother, and try not to get whipped by any snapping cables. 😉

The hoist is a great idea. The scribing was very good. I'm sure all your skills will become honed by the end of your build. It's great to see you living your dream. You give us all confidence to step out. "Oh Holy Night" is my Favorite, thanks for including it in your selection of Beautiful music. It's words say it all. Always makes me emotional. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas!

That's my favorite Christmas song as well. Interesting that it was written by an atheist! God has a purpose for everyone.

Great videos my friend, be careful some pretty basic safety fails I can see, your on your own so need to be super careful, never stand between a live load and the winch, never step over a live winch cable, don’t walk under a load, and always undo your shackle pin 1/4 turn before loading. Hats off to you though amazing build and loving watching your progress.🙏

Thanks. Yes, I'm going to build a wooden "shield" to stand behind when using that winch. Lots of force pulling those logs. It should be fine but better safe than sorry.

Hi, Because I work in the forest a lot, I've noticed a few things. 1. safety, personal protective equipment when working with a chainsaw! Especially when working alone in the forest. I don't assume that the nearest hospital isn't 5 minutes away. One cut to the leg or foot and the fun is over. 2. shorter blade for these thin logs, better handling and you should not work with the tip = kickback. 3. tip, for longitudinal cuts on the log, the angle of the teeth should be max. 15 degrees, better cutting control, higher cutting performance and not 30 degrees as for the cross cut. We always have an appropriate chain for this. Well, have fun and continue to work accident-free.

If life could really be that simple. You worked hard for what you have. But you are truly blessed to do what you are able to do.. Just curious... when you notch out the logs. Would it be beneficial to burn the notch insides? The log cabin will look awesome im sure. But the completed one, i love it. Thank you for sharing your builds, so refreshing and inspiring

@LIVINGRETIRED310 Thanks for the comment. I actually am thinking about burning the notches and the underside of sill logs along with maybe a little char on the outside of the logs to protect against bugs. We'll see!

Interesting little-known fact: Bark peels best when logs have been harvested in months with no "R"; May, June, July and August. Learned from "Wilderness Escape" (KZbin). Has to do with sap.
