Lifting the cab off the frame | 1964 LS Swap Chevy C10

I build the cab cart and jig to lift the cab off the fame so I can start to clean it up and make it purtty!!!

Well, I had to go check check my engine hoist and it is 2ton. It has the long boom arm and legs. If it was not 100 degrees F outside, I might work on it, but no! I have seen only two others like this and it is not the weight but the awkwardness and position. The cab is slightly heavier on the drivers side and slightly forward of center. Some used a pocket with a 2” tow ball while the other did like yours. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!

I got rid of the 1 ton and picked up a 2ton and had no issues reaching and lifting. FB market for the win sold the 1 ton for exactly what I paid for the 2ton. And picked up a pneumatic ram from HarborFreight for half price. Putting the cab back “should” be a breeze. In theory haha

yes its really not crazy heavy ive seen 2-3 men lift it up
