I really hope you don't listen to these "videos to long", comments! Your videos are tutorial and superbly informative content presented in a format I wish my home economics teachers would have done years ago. Your's is from actually working with these different patterns, processes and fabrics! Which amazingly you are sharing (seems others have gone to the grave never sharing these tips and golden bits of knowledge), in a format that is so clear and easy to understand! After years of tears, seam ripping, wasted rationed fabrics,trial and error on my own I've learned a few of these techniques. Please continue your long videos, it is a video, it can be paused to continue later! Bless you.

I for one appreciate the length of your videos. Your explanations are truly needed and I’m a visual learner. Thank you. If the video is every to long, I can always stop it and come back to it during my relaxing time. I appreciate the length when I’m applying your techniques, again it’s appreciated. ❤😊

I bought this pattern when it came out and hope to make some capris or shorts for this summer. The linen looks lovely and nice and cool for summer. I love the fact that they do not have a waist band. If people think your videos are too long, they can fast forward or not watch at all. I do come back to your videos time and again because you sew so many of the patterns that I love! Keep up the great work. I love listening to you voice as well.

You can always practice how to sew pants via a muslin from a old bedsheet.( I have gone up various sizes myself.) So learn how-to now as an exercise. I've been learning still even after many many years of sewing, enjoy the adventure.

I enjoy your videos a lot, and this one was timely, I'm just finishing linen blend pants with a faced waistline. The pattern called for 1/2" ease at the waist, but I guess my fabric stretched because I have an inch ease and the pants won't stay up. You said you wanted 1-1/2 inches waist ease. How does that stay up at the waist on you? Do you ever end up adding elastic or taking in seams? Thanks.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
I never have an issue because I have a 10” waist/hip difference and the fullness of my hips start highish... I have a very curvy hip area. That means that my pants never fall down. I have 1” ease here and it’s good. They don’t fall at all. I stabilised the waistline of my pants by stay stitching as one of the first steps, by the way :)
@alexandranash39472 жыл бұрын
Hello! This video was very helpful, but I had question regarding blending sizes! I am using the palisade pants from paper cut patterns, but there is a side to the pants, so 3 total pattern pieces per leg. How would I blend sizes in this case? And wouldn't I need to blend the crotch side as well to adjust for the waistband? Hopefully this won't get lost! I'd love some advice!!
@LiftingPinsandNeedles2 жыл бұрын
Im not at all familiar with that brand or that pattern. I recommend you contact the indie designer with your questions. I don’t own it, do I can’t be held accountable for advice in this case that may not be the most accurate. What I can say is that you don’t blend the crotch on a pattern. You use the crotch size of your full hip size for that.
@alexandranash39472 жыл бұрын
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles thank you very much for responding!! I'll do that

I would love to belong to your patreon group, but cannot afford it. Question: why would you need a ten inch zipper. Isee some many flies in pants that look too long.
@joanneblair20873 жыл бұрын
PS Your trip on grading was excellent
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
The zipper is longer because it goes all the way to the top of the pants. There is no waistband here. If there was a separate waistband then the zipper wouldn’t need to be longer. Also it’s easier to sew a zipper when you have extra length at the too because the zipper stop does not get in the way.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
I’m Glad it was helpful.
@zaymada32283 жыл бұрын
Would I also need to adjust the crotch area too ?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand the context of your question. Adjusting the crotch is a personal fitting adjustment.
@zaymada32283 жыл бұрын
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles sorry, what I mean to say is, I want to adjust my pant pattern by reducing the hips, so I would follow your video on how to do that! But would I also need to scale down the inseam area?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
@@zaymada3228 I reduced the pants at the width of the legs and not the hips. It’s not the same. If you need a smaller hip size, you need to blend sizes and that usually involves the side seam.

Ok thank you !

They are as long as they need to be for the topic to be well demonstrated and explained. I don’t know if this is purely a statement or a critique from your part.
