Just checking that the model of the remote you mentioned was 51LM (and not 61LM) for the purpose of locating a compatible replacement.

Both the 51LM or the 61Lm will work with this opener

@@TBHD724 So far, I haven't had any success with an aftermarket 61LM compatible remote. That arrived with 9 dipswitches and matching them up with those on the board didn't help. I'll try one advertised to work with 51LM next. If you know for certain of a specific brand/model of remote that works, please let me know.

If you can't get any dip switch remotes to work you can buy the liftmaster 365LM or genie GUR universal receivers to wire up to the opener. Both receivers are compatible with current liftmaster or genie remotes

Did a quick google search and found the manual on some website, opener was from 1990. That’s all I could find 😂

I think by 1990 they'd switched over to the 1140, but maybe 1990 was the last year they made these. If it was from 1990 I'm pretty sure it would've had a date on it at that point

How do I make this smart? I want to be able to view the status on google home, Alexa, etc? Do you have instructions for that? I’d appreciate that. Just bought a house and this came with the house and no clue how to operate it and the transmitter doesn’t work either.

The only way to get smart control of this is to buy a liftmaster 365LM universal receiver and connect it to the opener, in the app you select the opener as a liftmaster with a purple learn button. With the addition of the receiver you will also be able to use the current 893MAX or 373LM remotes with the opener.
