This is really useful, thanks! I have got ceiling to floor extra wide windows, which directly face the sun and as a result turn the flat into a furnace during the summers. I am thinking of replacing my current vertical panel blinds (old narrow panel type) with the same type but blackout blinds to let some light in during the mornings. The idea is to block the heat and not necessarily the light. Do you think this would help, would be grateful if you could suggest alternatives. THANKS!

my only issue with you is that when you want some some like to come in you have to literally open the whole shade instead of just letting some light through with blinds

Should I buy room darkening type of blinds or blackout shade? My room is very hot during summer days and I want it to be cool

Your room darkening shade blocked out all the light but you have a video light on behind the camera...

You caught us, it's a fake window. 🙂 This demonstrates that even blackout shades will still let in light from the sides of the window. That's why we recommend our light gap blockers. Hope that helps!
