My mom taught me to pray, "What time I am afraid I will trust in thee!" When I would wake up from a nightmare, I would repeat that phrase over and over. Sometimes I was able to go back to sleep easily and other times I would almost be shouting and working myself up. Now I have learned more scriptures I can repeat to remind myself that the Lord will delivery me and that He does not give me the spirit of fear. The older I get I feel so blessed to have had a mother that got me started at a young age turning to God when I was afraid. She may have done it so I would not wake her up wanting to crawl into bed with her and dad, but the Bible says to train up a child in the way they should go. If you were not brought up this way, it is never too late to learn. The enemy is out to steal our peace and only the Lord can help you by giving your His peace.
