Absolutley love the 25 pdr. I usually play Commonwealth (Australians) and since my group allows for different theatre selectors, I most like the Commonwealth Infantry Brigade and Jock Column as they give you access to two 25pdr each.

I've a huge emotional attachment to my little German light artillery piece, it always seems to get work done. I have heavy and medium pieces in my collection but the Germans have so many crazy upgrades I can never afford them.

I often hear about Bolt Aciton, that a unit should "make its points back". Most games end without complete destruction of the enemy force. If you win while the opponent has lets say 30 % left of his force, your units only need to make 70 % of each units points back to be worth the points. And often a unit does other good service like area denial or defending its order dice, which is also worth points.

It can help other units make pins or take a few troops off the table, which is just fine.

Very helpful. A suggestion, to make your videos a bit more visually interesting, would be to show the units on the table and take your demonstrations a bit further (dice rolling, placement, etc.). It does require more work for sure (video, editing etc.)

Yeahhh I would like to but that’s simply something I don’t have time for unfortunately. Right now I can record these videos in an hour or two. Writing a script, filming, and editing that would probably 10x the amount of time required to produce this and I simply prefer to put out weekly content. Maybe I’ll do that for 3rd edition though lol. All that being said I do plan on doing Batreps in the future

25 Pounder all the way for Light artillery. Also why it costs 5 points more, but compared to the German light arty, it's 50 pts but you cannot have an observer. Also the Quad tractor for the 25 Pds (Or well, all Brit artillery) is super cheap, at a wooping 15 pts (18vet), so an easy dice to get onto your list

I could be wrong but in the errata HE against buildings if different, units inside can go down etc

in a recent tournament my 25pdr hit a full strength US paratrooper squad. Hit 5 of them, killed 4, forced the morale test and they failed. Ran off the table. Best part is that I was losing the game and this was the final action for the game and forced it to a draw.

I prefer of either having mortars as I got a 80mm for my German units and a big 120mm heavy mortar for my Soviet units both usually regular and with a spotter. Or I prefer to go with vehicle mounted that way like you said I could reposition with far greater mobility if an enemy starts to take cover or moves out of line of sight. As I got a SD Kfz 251/9 Stummel and now a SD Kfz 166/Brummbar. Then right now only a lowly KV-2 with it's 152mm infantry eraser from Mother Russian soil for the Soviets. I still is going to get a JSU-152 that way I can do both early, mid and late war for my Soviets. That is about the only real down fall with towed vs vehicle is that you have to reposition and take a -1 to hit if your opponent flanks or gets somewhat behind them. Oh you said light AT gun at the end I think you mean light howitzer. But still I'm digging these over views of units.

The +1 to the table from indirect fire to open topped units is to the damage one, not pen
@ijsbeermeneer99527 ай бұрын
One major mistake here is the fact that HE does get negative to hit values when the unit is a small team or down! Very important
@mattcappelli58223 жыл бұрын
I’m new to the game, but trying to figure out why you’d take a mortar over a howitzer. Seems like the howitzer is more versatile for a similar point cost.
@HollywoodWargaming3 жыл бұрын
Mortars take up their own slot in a Reinforced platoon, so if you want to run an AT gun you can take a mortar also. Also they’re more portable than artillery and can relocate easier if need be.
@mattcappelli58223 жыл бұрын
@@HollywoodWargaming that’s a good point. I haven’t taken both at the same time, but I think ok try the light howitzer with a spotter for a bit for some added versatility.

Can you do a video on the Soviet ampulomet ? They seems to be conflicting info online Vs gaming group on penning vehicles and pins
@dexionsgamingcorner3103 жыл бұрын
I'd like to see a video on the Ampulomet as well. It's like a Man Portable Light Napalm Howitzer. Without the Indirect Fire.

For the British force I try and take a 25 Lbr every time, and with a Sexton on the other end of the table, they can cause a problem for something like a Stug as to which way to face without exposing their rear or side armour.

The 10pts spent on a gun shield also negates snipers getting automatic exceptional damage.
@rubenlopezcatalan86613 жыл бұрын
According to the second edition A5 rulebook it does not, page 91 Sniper “ The shot ignores the shield gun and extra protection rules” I do not know if this has been modified through FAQS
