Lens was revelatory when it was first released. And used copies in decent shape are still easily clearing 3k USD despite the price softening somewhat recently. I like mine on an M body where the small size and vintage rendering offer a nicer alternative to the other 35mm I own.

It’s a great lens with beautiful rendering and it’s very difficult to beat the form factor. I would’ve definitely kept it if 35mm was my go to focal length. Just difficult to keep everything, gas is serious! What is the other 35mm you’re shooting with?

Why pay $1000 for a Chinese lens when Voigtlander makes better lenses at a fraction of the price.

It’s really all preference, people look for different characteristics to decide what is better or not for their use. We have a plethora of options today which is the great part
