@54:00 and I suppose having high supposedly virtuous expectations of oneself "is self"; for I am suffering the responsibilities that i expect of myself and for which i willingly take on, perhaps i want to be a hero?? or perhaps I have no faith in the capabilities of my loved ones that they dont need my influence, guidance, suggestions, or presence? sometimes I wonder if philosophers and people who give advice have children who have not become self sufficient emotionally by the time they are 16 or 18, sometimes it takes until late 20s, are we meant to abandon them for their own good, are we meant to detach emotionally even if we are not trying to control anything and are only available to them if/when needed, how are we meant to cope with the decisions or risks they take that would seem to put them in a position of dealing with the bad consequences for the rest of their life, such as debt issues or ethical decisions. Just saying, as a parent, it's hard to detach emotionally, my psyche goes into depression about it, I'm quite risk adverse I guess.

All that's up there is the divine in you. To be inviolate of temptation and provocation, for example is your for the asking. Better yet, ask for the will and strength (discipline, self control) to carry it out (change). Asking for material or fleshly goods (object of desire) or for another to change, goes unheard and unanswered because it is self indulgence and direction-less (misguided).
