It's late spring and the fishing is starting to pick up as temperatures get warmer. This season, I'll be exploring and trying to find new and interesting fishing spots, with the first one being a beautiful, quiet, secluded cove.
Hope you enjoy the video!

@@mrsage4489 I can't give any personal suggestions as I have never fished there before, but Seabass and Black Porgy are quite popular in the Tokyo Bay area. You can try taking a charter out, or try along the Sumida River. Local tackle shops will be able to give you the best advice!

What a cool looking little species. Is it always glass out conditions where you fish? There never seems to be any wind.

They don't grow very big, and are absolutely delicious fried whole. Super fun to catch too, but their numbers have been dwindling as they are a popular target so I try to release when I can. The water here is pretty clear most of the year, but not all the time. It's generally peaceful and calm during summer and autumn, unless there's a typhoon, but we get insane winds during winter and spring!

I'm wondering this is in Japan? I used to live in Kyushuu and it reminds me of places I've fished. I live in Tokyo now and I miss seeing this scenery. (Also the fishing isn't as accessible or good here haha)

Hi, this is in southern Mie Prefecture. I've heard there are good fishing spots near Tokyo such as Chiba Prefecture, but I think most places are only accessible by car.

@@hanjapanfishing Yeah there are good fishing spots if you have a car. Most good places are about 2~3 hours out by car. Mie looks beautiful! When's the best season to fish in Mie?
@hanjapanfishing
@hanjapanfishing 3 ай бұрын
@@Mr.TimushiYeah that's true, you'd need a car to access all the good spots from Tokyo, and Japan's highway tolls are so expensive! In Mie, the best season would be Autumn! Starting from late Summer to Early Winter.

@@hanjapanfishing They are and I also don't own a car here since parking is also really expensive! If I have the time I'll have to make trip to Mie this autumn then! Thanks for the info!

Im going to Japan here soon and would like to ask some questions on legality. In Japan, is it okay to fish anywhere on public property as long as there isn't a "No Fishing" sign?
@hanjapanfishing
@hanjapanfishing 3 ай бұрын
Hi there, for saltwater fishing in Japan, it is legal to fish anywhere on public spaces, as long as there aren't any warning signs. Some places have certain rules such as no casting due to high boat traffic etc, so be careful. Almost all fish species are fine to catch, but you need a permit to catch certain seafood like shellfish, lobsters, etc. For freshwater fishing, such as in mountain streams and certain lakes, you'd need a fishing permit, the local fishing shops in those areas would be able to give you more info. Have fun fishing in Japan!

Hello there...nice video....by the way what tipe of bait do you use for bream or jacks here in Japan.... I used shrimp and aji...but it doesn't work..😅😅😅😅😅 hope to get your answer...Ty ...
@hanjapanfishing

Hi there, thank you! I usually fish with lures, and jacks will take almost anything from jigs, jerkbaits, to soft plastics. Soft plastics on a darter jighead using the wind technique works well, I have a video on that from a while back! They ride the "Kuroshio" Current up to Japan from the south and are easy to catch from Mid-Autumn to Early-Winter depending on which part of Japan you live in. As for bream, specifically black seabream, you can catch them at river mouths using craw type soft plastics, with the free rig, which is the most popular style of lure fishing for black bream. For bait fishing for black bream, there are many different styles, but the easiest in my opinion is ヘチ釣り or 落とし込み which involves slowly dropping a near-weightless bait off the side of a breakwater. Most people use tiny crabs, mussels, tiny shrimp called モエビ, even barnacles. Hope it helps!
