I really like the information provided here; however, it would be nice to see a full range of motion on a schematic like, visual setting... This would allow for an option and to adjust for full caster, if an individual wanted this. I would show the side dynamics and show the tilting, or pivotal movements; in conjunction relative to the lower control arms. In conclusion, then recommend a realistic setting. Thank you for your time and efforts! 👍

I will get the SPC UCA if needed after my 2 " lift is done on a 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 OFFROAD. Front shocks: Bilstein 6112 Rear shocks: Bilstein 5160 With an Icon AAL with 1.5 inch lift.

@useryggfdcc Жыл бұрын
@@fernandobriseno8164 I installed the AAL to increase the load capacity of the truck. In the beginning the back was very stiff over bumps but now it's much better. It did lift the rear about an inch but it was more to increase the load capacity.

@@useryggfdcc I was wondering if I go the highest setting for Bilstein 6112s which is 1.75 in up front if I would be level or keep a bit of rake. I wouldn't mind some rake for towing.

Seems like a good idea, but I have not had a good experience with this product. The biggest problem for me is finding a shop that knows how to set these up, and set the alignment correctly. Also the ball joints for me atleast seem to have to be replaced every year. Now I do offroad my vehicle maybe more and harder then most people. The x axis bushing also seems to not take the excessive offroad use. So for now I'm going to use another product and see how it goes

What is the cause of a tacoma lowering in ride height after alignment?
@specialtyproductscompanysp80272 жыл бұрын
This is usually caused by spring sag and other component loading. Springs can sag over time and new springs may take a "set" shortly after installation. Any rubber piece can deform a little. All of this means that any vehicle's ride height will change over time. With a Tacoma, the coil-over shock attaches partway down the lower control arm so any change in the height of the spring/shock is multiplied by almost 2 out at the wheel.

This arm will not change ride height. Ride height is controlled by the strut and lower control arm.

Can I use spc on 7 inch lift ? They say no ?
@SPCAlignment Жыл бұрын
Most SPC adj UCA's will accommodate a 3" lift. Any higher lift than that I assume uses a tall knuckle. The tall knuckle height needs to be withing 2-3" of the lift height for the SPC arms to work.
@cglrtrk Жыл бұрын
But what I don't understand is kit works with oem uca but nor spc that's weird
@specialtyproductscompanysp8027 Жыл бұрын
@@cglrtrk If the lift kit uses a taller knuckle, it will probably work with the SPC arms. Without a tall knuckle, the OE arms will probably have the ball joints over-articulate due to the angle of the upper arm.

Do these need greased regularly?
@SPCAlignment5 жыл бұрын
As stated in the instructions the ball joints can be greased at each lubrication if needed. Rule of thumb is if the boot starts to expand while injecting grease do not add more.

I have a 4Runner with an aftermarket front bumper with plenty of room for clearance and am wanting to adjust the tire forward. According to your chart should I be going with A-C or E -G?
@SPCAlignment3 жыл бұрын
To increase rear wheel well clearance, start with the OE lower adjusters as they are more effective at moving the knuckle and then follow up with the SPC upper arm to compensate. Use the rear OE adjuster to push the rear arm leg "out". Use almost all the OE adjuster travel. Pull the front OE adjuster "in". Also go almost all the way here, too. You'll see the wheel/tire/knuckle move forward. This will create too much positive caster so position "E" is the one which is usually needed. Each truck and combination of modifications may lead to a different solution, but "E" is the position to start with.

These things are garbage. Almost got me killed. Thankfully I was only going 30 in town. I had everything torqued to spec and the nut let loose slamming my camber max out with caused me to swerve into oncoming traffic. Total garbage and a waste of money. Replaced with JBA HD high caster ucas.
@SPCAlignment2 жыл бұрын
Very sorry to hear that you had that experience, that sounds frightening. I am glad to hear you are ok. Did you contact our customer service department to have the arms inspected for warranty defects? We do NOT have issues with the top nut moving unless there is an issue with the torque during installation. Not to say that a defect is not possible in the nut, but that is not an issue which we have seen with these arms. Any defect in the manufacturing would be visible during inspection. There would be evidence of stretched threads if they were over torqued. Another common installation issue is that the plate on the bottom is not all the way into the channel when the ball joint is torqued. This can appear that the top nut is torqued at the time of install, but may shift in time. Once that plate does fall into its place, the joint would slip. That is an installation issue and there would be markings showing evidence of this as well. If you truly believe that they are defective, as your comment suggests, we would love to have the arms back for inspection and we would gladly warranty them. Please know that this is not a common issue with this product and I can assure you that the replacement pair would not have the same outcome. Our customer service team can be reached via email at custserv@specprod.com or via phone 800-525-6505. We take quality very seriously here at SPC and if there is a defect in the product we need to inspect them, so we can ensure safety for others as well. Thank you

@@SPCAlignment I have been a mechanic for 30 years and am fully aware of how to properly torque. You people always accuse people of doing something wrong rather accept responsibility that your product is defective. I threw them in the trash and purchased from JBA. They offer a lifetime warranty and their customer service is unmatched. The driving experience was nothing compared to my customer service experience with trying to get a refund on your products.
@SPCAlignment2 жыл бұрын
My response to you was informative and professional. I am sorry if I offended you in any way, that was not my intention. I also previously stated that a defect was possible, just not a common issue. I also stated that if a defect was present, that we would honor our warranty. Refunds are up to the sellers policies, they are not part of the SPC warranty policy. SPC offers a repair or replace warranty. Again, I am sorry if this policy is frustrating to you. I am pleased to hear you have found a product that works well for your specific needs. We appreciate all the other like products on the market as well. We all have our individual strengths. Wishing you all the best. Have a great day.
