Imho term limits need to be put in place. No term limits is one of the biggest downfalls of our government system. Why do we only have the choice to keep re-electing the same people who are not open to progress….over and over again. Thank you, Karen! As an empath, I had to distance myself from a close family member. The continuous narcissistic behavior, deceit, and self-centeredness, which showed no regard for the pain caused to others, became unbearable over 50+ years. Thus, following my mother's passing, I chose my well-being, and it's been 9 years without regret. It was the healthiest decision I've made, leading to a happier life. I maintain relationships with other relatives, hosting them sometimes during the holidays or meeting for meals. My father, bless his soul, attempted reconciliation before his passing, but I firmly declined. I resolved never to tolerate such treatment again.

I'm the same , an empath for many years having to learn to set up boundaries to save myself. My mother and I live with a bully husband / father who made life miserable. During his end of life I told his family I refused to see him so he could feel sorry now for the way he treated us. It was a NO. My mother passed on before him and I stood up for both of us. I felt her with me during that decision.

Good for you Karen for setting boundaries with your relationship with your dad. This is one of the issues we therapists work on with clients who come into therapy due to parental abuse. It sounds like you are setting these limits in a very healthy way. Doing it without guilt. A minister once stated in his sermon what the commandment meant to: Honor your father and mother. He believed it meant not to bring shame upon their name. That we owe them that and that is it. And, you are setting your limits in a very healthy way. Bravo!

I was pulled towards Mammography about 13 years into my career, not sure why, no one I loved had been affected by breast cancer but I listened to my inner voice and went with it. I loved it! I also taught senior students mammo for a while they followed me in the clinical setting. Supervisor for 22 years. It was an amazing career experience. Enjoy your career! Yes! This is my passion, standing up to the bullies & saying no more to those who mean harm to others. We each have our roles to play & it’s healthy to take breaks when needing to restore your vibrations, but I think we are needed to stand up to authoritarianism. The fear controls those who are more influenced by outside influences - media, propaganda, going with what the flow of what others are saying or doing, etc... Just wanted to say right off the bat that when I was going through menopause I stumbled over words and phrases, lost my train of thought constantly, and in general, appeared to be confused… a lot! Lol 🤣 It was all part of the energetic shift from the “Mother” phase to the CRONE, as in Maiden, Mother, Crone. There’s a “Wild Woman” in there too, but we don’t hear about her much. This is a subject so personal for me. Empaths and Narcissism. I have been faced with the narcissistic energy my entire life. To be manipulated, gaslighted, deceived, bullied. You name it, I have encountered this energy in all it’s facets. My son had an incredible meditation where his older brother came in spirit. (He passed from cancer at 20, his younger brother was 18 at the time. It prompted my awakening and dark knight of the soul) He described the roles we played as a family and how we choose to be paired up in many lifetime. He said it’s not light and dark. It’s We and Me. These energies create the duality of what we experience on earth. We carry both energies, like ying and yang. Creation is about separation and coming together. If you see the duality from the “We" and "Me" perspective rather than "light" and "dark" it is much easier to not create judgement. I can go deep into this perspective and all the dynamics, but it would be a book into human psychology. I am not a psychologist, some say I’m a healer, but that’s up for debate because I can be a disruption too, as I am not loved by those that I hold a mirror too and all they see is distortion of truth. I am aware the anger it creates when a person is too wounded to see the pain they bring others through their narcissism. They can’t transmute they energy so they project it on the empath. Denial and never admitting fault. It does not change with self growth. Which is why Empaths need to learn boundaries. Being projected at and not effectively transmuting energy can create emotional and physical issues for the Empath. In my sons meditation, I was said to be mostly a neutral energy, but "I go where I am needed". I walk a crooked path, is how I was described in the meditation. I believe Empaths fall into the neutral category. My husband is Net-neutral, the catalyst. He has always been pushed into leadership roles. My son in spirit told his younger brother that he is on the side of "We" and had to go because he would be more effective on the otherside. He doesn’t stay on earth long if he comes here at all. His younger brother works closely with him on the side of the "We". I’m not as comfortable to speak for those in the "Me" energy as I don’t understand their role in the balance of energy. But I call it the ego energy too at times. My son is currently studying neuroscience, but he is not so entrenched in the science of the brain’s function because he has experienced consciousness in ways science can’t explain. I believe he is a part of the new generation of change. The grief of losing a child is like no other…the depth to which you plunge….my path is definitely a crooked one as I navigate the polarity of emotions simultaneously in every moment since my son passed. Always transmuting energy, it’s exhausting.
