I don't think she would like Monster. It's too slow paced for her to get into definitely when she already has a distaste for anime. The reason why she likes Death Note is because it's more of a thriller off jump. The shows I would recommend for her, instead of giving her the popular generic anime's. I think she likes something more like Gantz or Red Garden even though animation is kinda outdated but stories start developing in the first couple episodes and the dialogue is not as boring and cringy as other shows definitely with Gantz.

Anime has different genres and demographics they are usually catered towards. Death Note, while it was published in a Shonen magazine has more in common with a Seinen series, which is more mature. So, you may be more interested in maturer anime. Other such Shonen anime is Attack On Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Here is a breakdown of few demographic categories in anime: Kodomo (targeted to young children) Shonen (targeted to teenage boys) Shoujo (targeted to teenage girls) Seinen (targeted to men) Josei (targeted to women) Boys Love/BL (targeted to women and gay men - stories revolving around same s*x male relationships) Yuri/Girls Love (targeted to women and men - stories revolving around same s*x female relationships) Etc.

Dee you should check out Psycho-pass. Most anime fans do not have a good taste in anime, they be watching baby shiz. Psycho-pass is a sci-fi crime thriller. Besides it's only 24 episodes (you don't need to watch season 2 as season 1 is a complete story).

The thing is Light was purposely killing by heart attack to get attention. The smart way to use the Death Note would be to mix it up with the causes of death; either decide it by dice rolls or pick a cause of death that is in some way fitting for the target. Say, for example, your target is a violent felon who routinely commits armed robberies. Easy, you write down that he gets killed in a robbery attempt gone wrong. No one will question it; as far as most people will be concerned, it was either his bad karma finally catching up to him or something that would've happen to him eventually just by the law of averages.
