I've been recently learning dozenal myself and I started from the basics, back like kindergarten level then learning my 1-10 multiplication tables, now I'm training myself to understand decimals in base 12. This method shown here seems like a good way if you want to work in base 12 while having base 10 as your set default thinking. This video is not the method I would recommend if you want to immerse yourself in another base method though.

Admitted, base 12 is not my area of expertise. A student sent me a question, I answered it based out of my experience. If a student did want to dig deeper into this concept and "immerse themselves in another base method" as you say, is there another KZbin instructor you would recommend?

A and B aren't the ONLY symbols that can be used to represent ten and eleven in dozenal.

I know this is old and I probably won't get a response, but I have A3*B4 and have to add the answer but have one part that =10, do I just put an A there in my answer?

Yes. A represents ten. Let's do A3(B4) 3(4) = twelve ---> 10 in base twelve A(4) = forty which is 3 twelves and 4 ones --> 34 in base B(3)= thirty-three, which is 2 twelves and 9 ones ---> 29 A(B) = is one hundred ten, 9 twelves and 2 ones---> 92 Adding my results together: 10+34+29+92.... I get 15 ones... Or a twelve and 3 ones I get 15 twelves... Or a 12 squared and 3 twelves. Final answer: 133
