I ran out of my homemade wax, so I had to buy off Amazon. Usually, I use a pound of bees wax chips mixed with a pint of cutting board oil, melted and mixed in an old crockpot. I then pour it into some 4oz tins to harden. Since I don't do cutting boards anymore, I just buy it on Amazon. Just make sure it's 100% beeswax like this one: amzn.to/3J8wt2M

I didn’t even need to make a box but I thought I’ll watch anyway because I always learn something new in lightburn from your videos. I didn’t know the node part and the arranging after! I’m glad I watched! Thank you.

That hammer scares me on 3mm wood! Maybe a rubber mallet or soft blow hammer would be better?

I use even on MDF. It is not about the tool but force used
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy

No, the hammer works best!. I tried a rubber mallet and it doesn't get them all the way in, and you don't hear the change in the sound that lets you know it's all the way in.

Hello Rich! On the very day I had decided to attempt my first boxes on my LaserMATIC 10 you release a video about boxes cut with the LaserMATIC 10! At 10:49, 11:30, and 13:17 you refer to a setting of 1.0. Correct me if I am wrong but I think you meant 0.1 which is what you input in burn correction at 3:58. I have yet to cut ANY boxes. Am I correct in assuming that I am always going to offset by an additional 0.02 (with the Roly) whatever the thickness of the material might be? Timely video, I must be living right.

Hey boss I can’t figure out how to get the connecting “tabs” to have less connecting tabs. How do u get ur original box with 4 plug in piece as opposed to the 8 plug in pieces u showed? Thank you in advance

Hi Rich... I love the tissue box. Do you sell and ship those completely assembled or as 5 pieces with assembly instructions?

Rich, another great video with some really helpful tips! Do you have any tips on how to round the sharp corners at the top of the finger openings? The ellipse makes a pretty sharp point at the top edge and the Radius tool doesn’t seem to work on complex shapes like those box sides.

The radius tool works for me, or you can always node edit.

1.0... my spot size was 0.08 so I added 0.02 for a super tight fit.
@merrillalbury8214
@merrillalbury8214 Жыл бұрын
.02 + .08 should = .1 not 1.0 maybe my hearing is off. 1.0 would give you a 1.02 kirf. Or my math is bad. Anyway, at least I have a good idea what to use when I get my Roly. Have a great day.

@@merrillalbury8214 You are right should be 0.1 :) It's too warm down there in Louisiana so we should send him some snow to get him back on track LOL

So, this says it's 'easy' but only if you have a laser cutter - right? I looked up laser cutters and they are in the $2000 and up and I don't have the money for that.. so is there another way to make these without an expensive laser cutter? Good video but there is no way I can afford a laser cutter. :'(

Perhaps a scroll saw? There are some cheap ones starting below $100. Just an idea 👍

@@nestorma9895 okay, i will look into that. Your boxes are very nice though but I need to keep my cost down - for now until I get money coming in regularly - maybe I can hire you or someone who has your skills. Thank you for getting back to me. :) Have a wonderful day.

Great video again! I am curious how that friction fit works in massive humidity changes? Does the wood ever shrink or expand too much? Maybe the beeswax helps with that?
