It was a very big song back then. I just found out Bobby passed away back in 2016. 2016 was the worst year for deaths I can remember. My mom passed away in 2016 as well. All the brothers , cousins and uncles would be drinking ....all the other cousins and boys from the block and neighbourhood would come around and join too . My sisters and her friend and aunties would sit over in the women section . We'd all laugh and dance 60's , 70's , 80's & 90's . Lighter shade of brown was definitely one of the jamz . Then we'd pass the blunt around and my grandpa and uncle would always get the guitar . We'd sing all night then go back to playing the jams from the stereo . Next day We'd be hungover having left overs from the cookout and all go swimming later that day . Come back to playing videos on the VCR watching all the 90's 🎬 movies at the time . Ooohh good times

I discovered LSOB in the summer of 94. I had to be 9. I already listened to rap, but I never felt it was “cool” until I discovered these guys. It’s almost been 30 years and I still play Hey DJ all the time. You can’t beat this. You just can’t. It makes me feel terrible what rap has evolved into.

I hung out with Bobby Ramirez in Salt Lake City.He was super chill. We had some pretty deep conversations. He talked to me about all his pain he was going through. He told me about his mom,how she abandoned him as a child and tried to come back when he was making money.I couldn’t believe it when I heard he passed away.Bobby I hope your in heaven at peace.Your we’re an amazing human. He was so cool.

I miss them days, I was little but, I just remember my uncles and aunties playing this song, having barbecues in the Summer Time. I wish I could have those days back. Or at least have to where we can have those traditional times.

+Joseph Casillas stop letting the white man put us against one another. We are the same, no difference. My grandmother is Mexican and my family is mixed. So black and brown are already together! You can think that way but I know plenty that don't. Don't let hate fill your heart

+Jeremy B don't harbor hate in your heart son. Black people cannot be racist because rasicm is a caste system created by those in favor of white supremacist thought, therefore, miniaturized cannot by definition be racist. But I love you too dear, may you achieve all you've desired
