** It's a month later and I wanted to add these comments... It occurs to me that I made this technique look very dangerous to the index finger. I get caught up in trying to make a difficult session work and don't realize that you're probably saying, I ain't gonna burn myself with this technique. Yes, I am well aware of the other technique where you slowly grind off and collect up the flint particles and then ignite the pile to ignite the tinder, but I think my way is quicker and easier. AND, it's not as dangerous to the finger as I made it look here. Check out my video called Igniting 12ish Different Tinders with a spent BIC, LINK below, and you'll see a safer representation of this technique.**
I've already shown you how to make fire with an empty lighter and also with a wet lighter. Today, we make fire with an empty wet lighter... annnd redemonstrate the first two also.
Topics of interest: How to utilize the mini ferro rod in an empty lighter, How to recover a wet lighter, Scraping fatwood with the Mora's spine, How to easily remove a lighter's guards, How to replace a lighter's guard.
Two other things I want you to know about today's video. Although it looks like I set my index finger on fire 4 times, I did not injure it in any way. Secondly, please don't get the idea that scraped fatwood is the only tinder that works with these techniques. All tinders that are highly processed will work. See the video below that proves it... Please SUBSCRIBE at the end of the video. Thanks!
